Adobe Marketo Engage

Is there a way to prevent numbers from being submitted in a text field on a Marketo form? I tried the masking feature but we need the number of characters to be flexible.  Thanks in advance for your input!

You've seen before that the Forms 2.0 input mask plugin can be tweaked to do some more elegant stuff. Here are a few more things you might want to do. I only recommend masks for things that have an explicit standard (like phone numbers, credit cards, etc.). But if you're going to use them for more than that, use them wisely! The code is bundled at the bottom of the post. SUPPRESS THE UNDERSCORE AS THE PLACEHOLDER By default, the mask shows a _ character in every empty position up to the max length. This can look ugly, especially if there's already a hint in the field telling people it's limited to N characters. You can remove the placeholder character entirely or replace it with something else (though I'm not sure anything is better than underscore or blank in this case, maybe a cursor block like ░ if you want to be retro-cool?). Hi team, hope you are doing well. I would like to know which may be the best way to identify which are the field updated more frequent on both a custom object and lead object. I assume that for Lead object it may be the original api activities (https://developers.marketo.com/rest-api/lead-database/activities/) using the data value changes. I've looked through a bunch of posts on here, but can't find one that's entirely relevant to my situation.   I'm trying to create an onSuccess script where the user will stay on the page if certain criteria is met and a second form will show, but if they don't meet the criteria, they will be redirected to a Thank You page (which is how the form functions today).   Setting 'return false' has no effect, and from researching in here, I believe it's our form event listener on GTM that is causing any custom onSuccess code to be overridden. The form will either redirect to the Thank You page that is set up on the Marketo side, or if I change that to 'stay on page', the page refreshes entirely instead of just hiding the form.   If I remove the event callback that is in the GTM code, everything works as it is supposed to, BUT it breaks our other forms on the website from submitting for some reason.   Is there anyway to override the GTM event callback?   Here is my form

I'm creating a Smart List for scoring purposes and I want to include titles with IT. Examples: Director of IT, IT Manager, IT Security, etc.  Since there are many title variations that will include "IT", I do not want to use an exact match. Is there a way to locate titles that include "IT" but also exclude words with "it" in them? Examples of words with "it" in them that we would want to exclude are architect, unit, critical, etc. There is a way to build a filter formula in SFDC that will include spaces - example: CONTAINS( LOWER( Title ) , " it")  -- Notice the space before the " it".  Is there a way to do something similar in Marketo?

I am not able to import email address to the user list for leads. Limited Access: You do not have sufficient privileges to perform this action. Before I was able to do  this but not today.

I just converted a lead to a contact in Salesforce, and then the record triggered a score update:This is despite having a criteria on our score triggers (which are global, not campaign specific) to exclude the "Lead merge" reason.Funny enough as I write this I've noticed that the Reason value in this latest "Merge" has a different string to the existing exclude criteria, although I was sure that the exclude string I had in place was the correct one to exclude Merges.Can anyone confirm that this new reason value "Merge (leaddb)" is the value for a conversion, rather than a merge?I feel we're deep in the Marketo dark arts here, so please shed some light!!Thanks to all in advance.Sean

I have followed numerous resources however I only create a link that pre-populates a link for the customer to share, I am looking to create a link for a pre populated tweet that has text as aswell as the link.    Basically I want the link to direct them to twitter and give them a pre populated tweet which would look something like this,    I'm taking part in X campaign, join me (website link) #campaignname    Has anyone done this and can advise?   Thanks,    Katie

We have many landing pages where we have some custom script added in the LP: Custom HTML Head Section.  Since we need to update these pages and the script would only be on selected LPs, not all,  looking at a way to do it via tokens.  Can script be added in a Marketo token like a text token then the token be added to the Custom HTML Head section of the LP? Are there limitations on lines of code in a Marketo token and what is the correct way to add it?   Thanks,

I want to have the flow only run if the user fills out the form with the state=New York. I would assume the add choice feature would be the place to do this, but the drop down is empty... Also when I load the page it shows a second drop down   , that then disappears within 1 second... See screenshot below Whats going on here? TLDR: I want a way to test this functionality by only showing the book a meeting form to leads who fill out the form saying they live in New York. Can't find a way to do it.

Hello,I just want to do a sense-check on something I'm noticing in my instance. We've got about 20 or so Active Smart Campaigns running with the "Person is Created" trigger, and a bunch of them have no constraints and filters. Considering that we have users uploading thousands of contacts at a time, should we be concerned about latency and campaign "races" because those new records would tee off multiple campaigns at the same time?I feel as though it's bad practice to have things set up as such.And thoughts are welcome and appreciated. Regards,Jason

Hello Community,    I have a PDF file hosted in design studio that is being used in an email program. The email broadcast has already started broadcasting.   If I replaced the PDF file in design studio with a updated version, will the email that is already broadcasting be updated with the latest version or is the PDF file URL unable to change once the email has broadcasted?   I realise that there will be people in my audience that have already downloaded the original PDF.    Thank you

Hello all. We are thinking of leveraging Marketo to generate NPS surveys, but we would like to retain the scoring over time, so we could analyse its progression. We did some tests and built a program for that, but it only retains the latest score. Has anyone been able to achieve the same thing? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

I'm working on a long term, sustainable data management plan for our Marketo instance. I thought I saw an article/post here on this topic, but I cannot find it anymore. Perhaps I'm being delusional? Anyway, I'm looking to put something in place, like a quarterly or half-yearly plan that will allow me to keep check on hard bounces and weed them out periodically, remove repeated soft bounces, delete spam, delete anyone not engaged for over last 12 months, check for valid incomplete records and have them completed via Zoominfo Enrich etc. Please advise if you have any recommendations around this. We like to think these are synonyms: the value you tell Marketo to save the value Marketo saves to the database the output of a {{lead.token}} But in fact, they can differ in interesting and largely undocumented ways.   Sometimes the saved value is truncated when the platform encounters a character it doesn’t like. Sometimes the saved value is what you expect, but the corresponding {{lead.token}} replaces original characters with new ones on the fly. And the behavior varies based on whether the update was sourced from a form, the API, or the Marketo UI.   The known offenders are: line breaks: that is, real U+000A, not HTML <br> tags surrogate pairs: any Unicode character requiring 2 paired bytes, such as common emojis like 👍 and 😛 and fancy arrows like 🡲 and 🡘 (plus hundreds of thousands of others, though most are archaic languages you’re unlikely to see in marketing data)   Line breaks are turned into space
