Adobe Experience Manager Guides

Hi there,I'm wondering how I can get lists (OL and UL) to avoid a space break only when no sentence comes before it, or if it is the first bit of content in a section. Here's an example of the extra space:Any help is much appreciated, as always! Thanks!Josh

Hi there, I want to quickly thank all of you again! We now have several custom templates in production! Our copyright information is currently pulled from the metadata of the map/bookmap, and it's working well. However, we sometimes use a second copyright statement for external publishes, and I'm wondering if there is a way to tell Native PDF to pull a specific <copyright> or <copyholder> based on conditional output. We essentially work with two copyright statements, using one for internal documents and one for external documents. Can I make this work in Native PDF? Thanks!Josh

Hi Team,Is having AEM Assets mandatory for purchasing AEM guides?

I had a need to create a custom footer for the last page in a Native PDF, without creating a new page. I have fulfilled 90% of what I need to do but the last part I am unable to figure out. I followed many steps from this post: Solved: Re: Native PDF: Last page content overlap - Adobe Experience League Community - 671193Here is what I did:1. Created a new page layout called Last_Page with the following code:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <!DOCTYPE html> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Common Page Layout</title> <meta name="page-style" content="size:Letter portrait;" /> <meta name="footnote-style" content="" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="content.css" /> </head> <body> <div data-region="footer"> <table class="MetadataTable"> <tbody> <tr

Hello! I'm seeing some issues in our legacy dita material where <screen> tags in tables are pushing past the right margin when I publish with Native PDF. How can I ensure that these screens stay in their cells? Thanks in advance!Josh

Hi there, I'm wondering if there is a way to get a <topicmeta> tag to show up on output through Native PDF. Currently it looks like the output template is ignoring it. How can I get it to show? Thanks in advance!Josh

1. How we can download or see the Temporary files with the below option selecting Download temporary files.2. What is the option to not to remove temp files generated . We want to analyze temp files for custom pdf rendition failure

I am trying the below java code Java codeString sourcePath = request.getParameter("Path");String baselinetitle = request.getParameter("baselinetitle ");String label= request.getParameter("label");ResourceResolver resolver = request.getResourceResolver();Session session = resolver.adaptTo(Session.class);String baselineDetails =BaselineUtils.createBaseline(session, sourcePath, baselineTitle, label,directContext, indirectContext); junit code @ExtendWith(AemContextExtension.class)class CreatesampleServletTest {private final AemContext context = new AemContext(ResourceResolverType.JCR_MOCK);@InjectMocksprivate CreatesampleServlet createsample = new CreatesampleServlet();@Mockprivate MockSlingHttpServletRequest request;@Mockprivate MockSlingHttpServletResponse response;@Mockprivate ResourceResolver resourceResolver;@Mockprivate Session session;@BeforeEachvoid setUp() throws Exception {request = context.request();response = context.response();resourceResolver = context.request().get

We haven't configured our Native PDF output beyond the toggle to turn on the TOC page and the checkbox to make the PDF accessible. We are using the Basic layout files that come out of the box. We're finding that the TOC page is duplicating the toc-level-1 and level-2 entry (see attached image). The Topics we're trying to publish have a Title and Section Title duplicating and only in the TOC. We checked the layout for the TOC page and the duplication doesn't appear to be coming from that, but I feel like I'm missing something.    ... <body> <div data-region="header"> <p class="toc-header"><span data-field="project-title" data-format="default">Project Title</span></p> </div> <div data-region="content"> <p class="toc-title">Contents</p> </div> <div data-region="footer"> <p class="toc-footer"><span data-field="page-number" data-format="default">1</span>&lt

I require adding styling to an aem component but do not wish to add these in the aem styling system or the policies within a component in editable templates. Is this achievable?

Is there any way to grab the tag title in a native pdf field? I have a custom metadata field on my asset called category, and it is a tag field. When rendering the pdf I get the full path to the tag, but I want to display the title instead.i.e. The below displays "PROJECT:DOCUMENT-TYPE/DOCUMENT-TYPE" and I want it to display "Document Type Title"

Hi,pdf header should come color bars, registration marks, trim marks and bleed marks.I need to use printer marks for generating native pdf.how to adjust/align this color bars, registration marks, trim marks and bleed marks.Any setting is there to make color bar in full width on the header of pdf page (as in expected result image).I attached the screenshot of actual result and expected result.

Hi I have customized my asset UI search by following the below document and added custom attributes to the dita search.  Can some provide any document that contains detail steps to configure and test this?https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/experience-manager-guides/using/install-guide/on-prem-ig/aem-asset-search/conf-dita-search#id197AHI0035Z Thanks

When we insert the same conkeyref into a topic more than once, it works fine and generates a PDF (Native PDF Publishing) -- in Author view.If we try to look at the Source view, the XML Editor generates an error code of a duplicate ID and won't let us save or use the file with the same conkeyref used more than once.Occasionally we need to use the same conkeyref in a topic, for conditioned content or for something like a button image that may be used more than once.Is this a bug? We use the source/code view quite often for speed and performance reasons. AEM Guides (UUID) 4.4 On-Prem Installation (24 Jun 2024)AEM 6.5.19 (Service Pack 19) On-Prem Installation (15 Jan 2024)

Bizarrely inconsistent behavior -- My navtitles in the map are not working. I have at least 6-7 inline navtitles, and only one is generating the title in the Native PDF Publishing output as expected. The other titles are all the topic titles. If AEM Guides was being moody, and something that worked a few weeks ago didn't work today, I'd expect that NONE of the navtitles appeared in the PDF output. But one does, and none of the others do. I also tried to insert the navtitle as part of a topicmeta element in the map and that didn't work, either. I can see no typos and nothing different between the one that does work and all the others that do not. Does anyone have any ideas? This is really odd behavior. AEM Guides (UUID) v4.2 On-Prem Installation (late April/early May 2023)AEM 6.5.15 On-Prem Installation

Does anyone know why some SVGs in the AEM repository have preview images/thumbnails and some do not?It seems like if the SVG has a raster image embedded in it, it doesn't generate the preview. At other times, a specific image won't update properly or generate a preview properly, but if we wait a day and upload again, the same graphic works fine.

Hello again! I am developing a Native PDF Map template. I have copyright content that I'd like to include on the last page of a PDF. I've been able to call the information that I need, but I'm having trouble with the DITA content running under the copyright info. I know I can potentially push this out to its own page entirely, but I would prefer not to include an entire extra page each time. Here is what I'm working with: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/> <link rel="stylesheet" href="layout.css" type="text/css"/> <meta name="page-style" content="size:A4 portrait;"/> <title>Page Layout</title> <meta name="footnote-style" content=""/> </head> <body> <div data-region="header"> <br/> </div> <div data-region="content" style=""></div> &lt

Hi there, As I'm checking through the styling of my Native PDF bookmap, I'm noticing that certain items are adding space in different contexts. For example, my <steps> are space properly. However, when I insert a <note> into a <step>, extra space is added at the top and bottom of the <note>.Do I create new style entries to resolve this? How would you resolve the example above to eliminate the extra whitespace in this context? Thanks!Josh

Hey folks! My team has this use case: As a content manager, I want to create a copy of a folder containing thousands of Guides items so I can use samples of "real" content for things like training, testing, etc. without giving access to the "real" content itself. We tested using Assets to copy/paste a folder of content in our Dev environment, and it appeared to work correctly. Go to Assets/FilesCheck mark the folder you want to copy in the thumbnail view on the rightClick copySelect the folder you want to paste into in the content tree on the leftClick paste at the top of the screenBut when we try to do the same with our real content in our Stage environment, we get errors like this, and the content copy fails right away:POST /bin/linkmanager HTTP/1.1] com.adobe.fmdita.link.LinkManagerAPI Error! in LinkManager APIcom.adobe.guides.core.exception.ApplicationException: Unable to copy path /... /causes-pulmonary-edema-consumer.dita due to nullSo we're wondering, is that a legit er

We have create some custom dita topics and maps, these custom custom topics use custom xml tags too. We have created custom dtds and everything is working as expected but the topics and maps are missing the icons. How do we configure this?

I am trying to use Baseline API and getting the below error can some body help to fix the issue. Could not resolve dependencies for project org.example.core:jar:0.0.1-SNAPSHOT: Could not find artifact com.adobe.fmdita:api:jar:3.5 in adobe-public-releases (https://repo.adobe.com/nexus/content/groups/public)

I'm trying to replace the "on page" content with a language variable in the output template Settings screen/tab.I replaced "{title}" on page {page} with "{title}" ${lng:on-page} {page}. The translation for the on-page variable appears in the output, but that is all that appears. The topic title and page number are now gone.I have successfully converted my CSS files and layout pages to using some other custom language variables. My next step was to use a language variable in the template Settings field to translate all the "on page" content. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have searched the Experience League, read through the various AEM Guides pages, and re-watched the translation Expert Sessions but I'm not finding the answer. AEM Guides v4.4 On-Prem UUID
