Adobe Experience Manager Guides

There are many places where you can generate your PDF from the editor in 4.2, like from the icon in the left corner of the screen, or the Generate Output menu option from the Map panel that opens when you double-click a map. Both of these have the Folder Profile's list of presets available for generation. How do you set up the presets for the "Quick Generate" menu item that is available from the (...) beside a map in the repository? It expands to "Select Presets" and if that is selected, it says 'No presets available". It has the same icon as the other generation items, but has not automatically set up the presets. 

Hello, I am using the AEM as a Cloud Service instance of Guides and trying to use the broken links report generation for the DITA maps - https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-manager-guides-learn/tutorials/user-guide/reports-aem-guide/reports-web-editor.html?lang=en#report-broken-links However, I do not see the broken links report option available (both in local SDK and Cloud Manager environments). Is this feature specific to some version or needs additional configurations so enable it ? ThanksNarendra

Hi AEM Community, I am new to Guides and currently doing a POC on setting up simple DITA implementation wherein we generate a PDF using DITA Template. I have installed AEM Guides 4.2 from the software distribution and got access to the Guides in Navigation.I have created a new folder "Test PDF Template" under dita-templates/pdf where we had 3 folders (Basic, Hi-Tech and Prime) already created.I added 2 DITA Topics and 1 Dita Map as shown below -  When I try to output this folder/template to PDF Preset, I get the error "PDF Generation Failed" with below logs -  [fop] [ERROR] Anttask - Error rendering fo file: D:\Project\AEM_Author\crx-quickstart\profiles\ditamaps\ditamap16299010202468616354\temp\temp20230517200714751\topic.fo <org.apache.fop.apps.FOPException: net.sf.saxon.trans.XPathException: org.apache.fop.fo.ValidationException: "fo:flow" is missing child elements. In the XML Editor, why is Cut and Copy listed in the right-click context-sensitive popup menu, but no Paste?I always use the keyboard, but one of my technical writers uses more mouse options and noticed Paste was missing.Paste was missing in v4.0.2.10 and is still missing in v4.2.

How can I use the contents of the otherprops attribute (applied to a map) or the contents of the <data-about><data>123456</data></data-about> element (also within the map) in the PDF output?Example:<map otherprops="123456" id="GUID-67df857b-c67f-4706-ac81-08c33093cf94-en_us"><title>Map for Testing Short Outputs</title><data-about><data>123456</data></data-about> I can see how easy it is to insert the BookNumber element of a Book Map into the PDF footer ( <div style="width:33.33%; float: right; text-align: right; font-size:0.8em">p/n: <span data-field="metadata" data-format="default" data-subtype="//bookid/booknumber">Book Number</span></div>), but unfortunately, all our DITA maps are maps, not bookmaps.

All three of us, using different browsers, have noticed that the 8 on the keypad does not work in the Author view of the XML Editor, but does work in the Source view and everywhere else.  AEM Guides v4.2On Prem Installation

Having created several DITA topic and map templates I assumed those templates would be available in the list of templates when I create a new topic or new map. Is there something beyond creating the template that I need to do in order for the system to add them to the list of available templates? Sadly, the documentation on the question is somewhere between rubbish and non-existent. Thanks in advance for any info anyone can share.

I am using AEM 6.5.12 with guides 4.2. I have a dita topic containing two paragraphs having attribute audience. Also , I have created a conditional preset. In the AEM SITE preset I have applied that conditional preset . But SITE Generation gets failed . Hi All, Can you please help me understand why the changes I made in the topic and published via Asset UI are not reflecting in the publish server URL?Is there something that I am missing? Thanks, 

Occasionally, a new version of an image (.SVG) uploaded to AEM Guides (v 4.02) does not show as updated in the browser/thumbnail view (the old version shows). I've heard there is a "Reprocess Asset" option in Guides that could potentially fix this issue; however, I do not see this option. Is this option something that needs to be configured so it's visible in Guides? If so, how to configure?

Does anyone have some example CSS code that successfully auto numbers headings 2 or 3 in the Native PDF Publishing? I'm having a hard time getting it to work correctly. (For example, 1.1 would be the first heading after the start of Chapter 1; 1.1.1 would be a topic indented under that first topic.) Also, why isn't there an autonumber option for tables and figures? I am also not getting the counters there to work. They reset by paragraph or by topic instead of numbering throughout the document (resetting the counter by chapter would be also acceptable).

Does anyone have any idea why sometimes the fonts in SVG images render correctly in the PDF (Native PDF Publishing) and sometimes the fonts are replaced with Times New Roman? Sometimes both in the SAME IMAGE? (Fonts used are either Arial or Arial Narrow). I have one image I just fixed the text and verified Arial Narrow was the only font being used. I saved the SVG with the glyphs embedded and generated a new PDF. Half the text is in Arial Narrow and half is in Times New Roman in the PDF.

I have a map migrated from another CCMS with a couple hundred topicrefs. Within these are the occasional conref, targeting an element in one of several topics that are not included in the map as topicrefs.To follow best practices, I want to find all of these conrefs in the map--in whichever topic they may appear--and link these conref targets as "processing-role=resource-only". I can't seem to find a way to search inside the map for these... does anyone know how I can do that?

When we send files from AEM Assets to Phrase TMS via translation connector, the translation projects that we created within AEM shows the each file with complete path along with folder structure and everything. but in TMS, it just shows the filename only. is there a way we can send the complete path to TMS ( it would be helpful to display the breadcrumb path for them to figure out the file belong where).   Thanks

Hi, In Cloud Manager we've deployed a dev environment using the "aem-project-archetype". I've also deployed the "com.adobe.fmdita-aemaacs-2022.11.198.zip" for Guides package, a custom DITA-OT.zip package and some Dita file content. I've also updated the Guides profile Schema with new custom dita paths. Now in the author portal in Guides, when I select a ditamap file and select "Open Map dashboard", under "Output Presets" I expect to see 5 default presets: AEM Site PDF HTML5 EPUB CUSTOM   But instead I see no default presets and none of the Generate, Edit, Create, etc... selections seem to be operational. Shouldn't the 5 listed presets be listed/selectable by default? My account has Administrator permissions in Guides, am I missing other permissions? Any idea what could be the issue?   TIA

I have a dita topic which has a paragraph element having below attributes <p id="p1" otherprops="otherprops-value" platform=" platform-value" product="product-value">Topic2 first paragraph</p> When I generate aem site for the dita topic. I can see platform and product attribute getting added on the html element as data-platform=" platform-value" data-product="product-value" but otherprops attribute doesn't gets added. <div class="p wrapper"><div data-platform=" platform-value" data-product="product-value" id="GUID-4d2c4a5e-69bf-4217-9a6f-64b6581c0ed3_t2p1" class="p"><div style="display: inline;">Topic2 first paragraph</div></div></div>   How can I enable otherprops also to be added as an attribute to element of the generated html? @divrajsingh 

Hi We have a usecase where in we will have to convert the file extension from filename.xml/filename.dita (topic file) to filename.custom (custom extension) when we send it to TMS via translation connector. And we wanted to convert it back to filename.xml/filename.dita DITA topic post translation.
