Adobe Experience Manager Assets

I'd like to go from a search result to the content tree because its position in the tree (or even the asset's path!) will tell me where the related material is on a separate ol-timey file server. I just had a stunning circular conversation with Bard about this, ending with the feature I am looking for has been moved twice, and then removed altogether in recent AEM versions.I would like it to navigate to the Content Tree to browse, but I guess I'll settle for the Assets path in the repository and nav the hard way. That metadata is no longer visible in asset Properties, presuming it ever was and Bard just made it all up.

Hello All, Can anyone confirm that when we migrate from AMS Enterprise hosted servers to Cloud Service hosted servers, will our customized smart crops carry over?  I am in the middle of a labor intensive project and want to be sure my efforts are not futile....  Any tips or suggestions are welcome. Thank you for your response in advance.

Hi all hope you guys have a good day, As the subject mention, currently in our AEM we have a content fragment template with an English dropdown label, and we would want to cater for other language (Mandarin for this case) without changing the original label. The reason for this is that we already have a lot of content fragment assets based on this template and manually change it would be a hassle. 

This came up as a query in one of our requirements. A component is designed which has a drop-down, this drop-down should show icons on selection of any one value (for example facebook icon should be displayed if i select Facebook in the dropdown), but these icons are not stored as DAM assets. Where should I store the icons and how do I access those icons in my Aem project?  

I have been trying to add a .csv file to AEM DAM and I keep getting a failure due to "Job failed due to an exception(Required column assetPath not present in the sheet)." I looked at other posts and did what was suggested but it will NOT work. I've added a photo of what the document looks like. Do not understand the problem. I also have 166 lines and the max is 100. How do I get the other 66 to upload. 

Hi Experts, I understand that there is a provision to rename Folders through 'Properties' but it doesn't actually change the node name when I observe in JCR and there is no provision to rename Assets. We are now trying to customize AEM to give users a provision to easily rename folders and files (assets) which also renames node names.  Renaming folders and files is a common use-case and wondering why Adobe haven't addressed this! Are there any under-the-hood technical issues that we are potentially overlooking in implementing this requirement ? Thanks.  

Hi, I want to create an new custom action button under tool bar in assetdetails.html. Earlier I have created for assets.html and it is working but when same way I am trying in assetdetails.html then it does not work.What I have created  I have created this custom action button, and when I hit on this button then it opened a dialog like below screenshotProblem: When I try to create same button and dialog under http://localhost:4502/assetdetails.html then it is not working Does Anyone created this type of functionality under assetdetails.html action toolbar ?

Our design team currently store design files inconsistently and in an un-centralized location. We were hoping to use Assets for storage of live design files (InDesign files). Do you store design files (i.e. InDesign files) in Assets? If so, can you explain process, downfalls, benefits?

Hi All, While doing bulk move (200-300) assets without reference adjustment or doing bulk re upload to dynamic media in AEM cloud , we are seeing below errors in logs  com.mongodb.MongoNodeIsRecoveringException: Command failed with error 91 (ShutdownInProgress): 'The server is in quiesce mode and will shut down' on server <current_primary_shard>:<port>. Any pointers why this is happening and is it safe to ignore these?

Hi all, My organization is considering implementing Asset Share Commons. We want to implement a feature like the Cascading Metadata feature in AEM, where there is dependency between metadata fields and/or their values. I know this isn't an OOTB feature and we're planning on implementing some customization to do this. Has anyone done this? Hello,I'm on AEM 6.5.12. I need to add alt text to images to improve web accessibility. When I open Image properties in the DAM, I see metadata fields such as "title" and "description", but there's no field for "alt text". 2 questions:1) If I add a title and description in the image metadata, does that function as alt text? 2) The image component has a field for alt text. Is this the only place to enter alt text? The would mean if I use the same image on multiple pages, I have to enter alt text several times. Thank you.Cindy 

Hi All,We need to migrate AEM assets between two instances . We are planning to use vlt rcp tool.The source instance is using Auzre Data Store and target is using different Azure Data store. Can we use vlt rcp in this case or do we need to take different approach. Any suggestions? 

There is a requirement where I have a service (lets say GetBundleInfoservice) in Bundle A. Now I need to access this service in Bundle B. What should be my approach. I have a servlet which returns a Json using that Service. However, I should atleast be able to call the service from Bundle A to Bundle B? Any suggestions?

Hi,I'm looking for a way for our librarians to export metadata of assets based on search results. For example, I searched with "jet" and I got 1000 assets as a result that spans across multiple folders. I think there is no OOB way to get this. I'm looking for a way to report on downloads by internal DAM users, NOT downloads by web users hitting our published sites.Under an Asset's Timeline you can see each user's downloads with the date/time (screenshot below). There may be 0 or, potentially, hundreds of downloads listed here.Is there a jcr reference for exporting/reporting this data?Is there a way to configure a transaction log of all downloads?Here's AEM 6.5 documentation about Activity Stream log location, etc.

We are using DAM as a centralized repository and we want to track the usage of assets consumed from AEM. OOTB we have asset insights but that is not working when it comes to usage , it only increase the count if we create a collection within AEM but for external sources we have no track. Did anyone implemented such use case where we need to track the asset usage from aem for external systems.   Version : AEMAACS

I need to connect AEM Assets with Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Does Assets Essentials has HTTP API endpoint? Or I need to AEM Assets? 

My client has reported 2 issues as1. They deleted those variants of CF a long time ago ( about 10 variants in CF)The process was deleted successfully and did not have any errors showing. But when they reappeared 2.
