System wide statuses locked in order to be visible in Team's settings

Hi, I have created some system wide statuses for issues in order to be visible in Team's setting for activating the 2 options "Work on it" and "Mark as done". The problem is that these statuses will be needed just for one group not for all, having them locked for all groups - that means they are visible for everybody and I cannot hide them. If I'm unlocking them in order to hide them for other groups, when I locked them again they overwrite the change made at group level.

Please let me know if you encountered this situation and what will be the best resolution ?

thanks,

Bianca

I tested this in my Preview environment and you're right: I can't get custom statuses for a specific group to show up as an option for Team settings. I would doubly confirm this with support and, if they say this is as designed, submit an idea. I'd upvote an idea to allow custom statuses to be used at the Team level for those automations.

It's been a while since I messed around with statuses, but what I do remember is that I made a bit of a mess of it at first. Support helped clear up what I did and how to do it better. I say that up front because that might be your next step.

If you haven't already, study this article. For statuses to be usable by only a certain group, you want to create the status at the group level, not the System Statuses (global) level. That means filtering to the group first, then creating the new status. Hiding a status literally makes it not visible to users. Locking a status means that a group admin does not have permission to edit the status configurations.

Hi Lyndsy-Denk, I understand what you are saying, but I need to set-up some statuses at system level for them to show in Team's setting for the 2 buttons Work on it and Mark as Done, or is there any other possibility for the statuses to show up in the Team's settings ?

thanks,

Bianca
