removing worker tasks closed by PM from My Work for closed projects

Some of our PMs have closed tasks not assigned to them in order to close out a project. The end result is that the person assigned these tasks still has them in My Work. An error results if she clicks the Done button or tries to change the task assignment saying she can't take that action on a completed project. If I switch project status back to In Progress so I can close these out properly for her, what impact will it have on Actual Dates? Is there another way to close these out for her? There's a couple of things you can do. The method you suggested should work. I'm not sure if they hit Done if it will reset the Actual Completion Date. But also if you put the Project back to Current (In Progress) it'll generate emails to everyone that participated in the project. You can try changing the setting in Setup about what to do with a Project in Complete Status (see Fig. 1). That might open it up so they can select Done but again not sure of the Actual Date implications. The other option that might be easiest is to have them remove the Tasks/Issues from their My Work list. This way you leave the Project Status alone and you don't have to worry about Done changing the Actual Date on you. See Fig. 2 Hope that helps. We have these tasks set to the PM group which allows anyone from that group to close out the task. It's quite helpful if the person is on PTO because it shows in all of our work areas.
