I am looking to pull a project report that shows the total remaining hours on a project for tasks that have not yet been completed. I was playing around with Completed Hours but that doesn't seem to solve it. Anyone else doing something similar?

Hi, Kasey. I think you'll be better served by a task report. There might be a way to gather a collection of task hours in a project report, but a task report is going to be closer to the data you need.
Thank you for the quick response! The issue is that we need to have this at a project report level that we show to our exec leadership team. They do not want to see things at a more granular level (tasks). The hope was to show projects with there % complete and the remaining hours left to be completed on the project rather than only being able to show the total Planned Hours or Completed Hours.

Hi @Kasey-Gagne,
Although it might be more than you need, I invite you to consider our AFA Burn List solution which tracks Rates, Hours and Hour Costs at the Total, Portfolio, Program, and Project level.
In particular, the far-right section of this screenshot shows the Remaining Approved Hours, Hours Cost, and Cost %; and if Costs are not (yet) important to you, we could tailor a version for you that removes the Cost columns and instead includes columns for:
If you think this might be a fit, I'd be happy to chat further via doug.denhoed@atappstore.com

Hi Doug! Thank you for your response! We are just looking for the remaining Planned Hours assigned to tasks within a project that have not yet been marked as complete. Nothing further than that - yet
Would that be what your Remaining Approved Hours refers to?

Thanks for spitballing with me@Kasey-Gagne,
In the context of our AFA Burn List solution, AFA stands for Approved/Forecast/Actuals conceptually, which equate to Baseline/Planned/Actuals within Workfront specifically, and rolls "up" to the Program, Portfolio, and Standalone level (across multi-currencies).
Given that, Remaining Approved Hours would be the total Approved (from the Default Baseline) hours minus the total Actual Hours recorded so far, or in other words, the total Approved hours "left" for each project. The same concept stands (albeit more advanced) for Remaining Approved Costs, which is also currently included as a % (i.e. to see "how close" the Actual Costs are approaching -- or passing -- the Approved Costs).
As @Lyndsy-Denk pointed out, you might be able to use native groupings to get what you need, but as I suspect there are many others like you who are more focused (for now) on Hours than Costs (someday), if you or anyone else reading this would be interested in helping me scope out an "Hours Only" version of our AFA Burn List (and/or AFA Burn Report solution, which goes "down" within each Project to the Department, Role, User level), I'd be keen do so via doug.denhoed@atappstore.com: we've got all the data in hand, so it could be a quick win!
Regards,
Doug

If @Doug_Den_Hoed__AtAppStore's solution doesn't meet your need, a patch might be to group the tasks by project and have those groups collapsed by default. It's not elegant, but might suffice.
I hear there are some reporting optimizations on the roadmap that might merge the perennial problem of task and project reporting, but I've heard no date estimates.
