Hi Everyone,
My PM Team will create project plans with assigned resources and hours as part of our project scoping. During this phase the project is in a Planning status. Until the project gets approved by the customer I do not want the tasks and allocations showing up in our workload balancer. Does anyone know if there is a status setting we can use when creating projects but not having them active in our resourcing plan?
I do not want to remove the hours or adjust the dates. My goal is to have a project plan built so that when the client says go we can just quickly adjust the start date and change the status to active.
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey Brittiny,
If I understand your question right, it sounds like you want to set your projects up completely in planning mode, but not have the task assignments officially hit your resource management workload balancer until the project itself is approved and is out of planning status. If I'm on the right page, I think you might be able to achieve what you want by stacking filters in your resource management tool. Here I have one filter for the resource pool I want to see as well as a filter to show projects that are not in planning status. It'll still show up in the workload balancer of the project itself, but it wouldn't show up in your resource management tool that way.
Does that help?

@TimWy1 this is very helpful. We just launched Workfront two weeks ago and Im definitely still learning the nuances of the tool. I was able to test this and confirm if the project is in planning status it won't show up in the task list for our team members either. This is important since we use the tool for time tracking too. Thank you for the help!!
Thanks for sharing this. This has been a pain-point for the traffic team for months. It's such a simple fix.
