Notes report not working

Hi

I have the simplest of simple reports that isn't working. It's a Notes type and the only filter is

Note/User ID = $$USER.ID

 

This should show any updates I've been tagged in, right? It shows 8 items and the last one was in 2021. 

 

I just want a list of updates for user looking at the report. Where am I going wrong? Is Notes not the right report type? I am baffled.

I'm not sure about Note/User ID. Choosing Note >> Owner ID Equal $$User.ID works for me. Here's the Text Mode:

ownerID=$$USER.ID
ownerID_Mod=in

I found a great solution in the Cookbook page 21. Links in these threads never work for me, so if you search for the cookbook, there are a few pages on Notes reports.
