Maintain Home Group on Historical hours

As WF users move from one home group A to B as a result of a position change, we would like to keep the hours they entered during their time in Home Group A there, rather than having them move to Home Group B when we change the home group on their profile. Is there a way to do this with out "fudging" their email address and creating a new profile?
