I have installed Outlook 365 add-in to test its usefulness for our company, whilst the install was simple and loaded easily, Outlook soon informed me that the add-in was slowing down the loading of Outlook and disabled it. Whilst within the IS community we are tolerant of this and have the understanding of the implications of this. The challenge of any adoption is the user experience is the ease of use and being seen as an enabler not a barrier. The current install of the add-in would be perceived as a barrier rather than an enabler and so we cannot roll this out. I will continue to test this and any further releases if they have a smaller footprint. I hope this helps. Regards Martin Vines GRANT THORNTON UK LLP

Yeah it's an unfortunate trade off that still exists. WF should remedy it, but hasn't to this day. It has been an issue for a while. I will say it has improved (used to take a couple of minutes to open). My Outlook takes about 45 seconds to open when I first open it in the morning. But it doesn't appear to have any other delay issues. So I just inform people of the trade off so they can make a decision if they want it. It's just a one time delay of 45 seconds. For me the benefits are worth it. For others it may not be. But 45 seconds is not a long time in my eyes (just feels like 5 minutes J ).
