How to filter the left panel on the home page

I have a user who's homepage only shows "Approvals" on the left panel with no ability to filter. How do I get the ability to filter?

Correct answer by

I believe it is because of the access level (Reviewer/Requestor). A Plan or a Work license would give filter options.
