Home Page - Boards Widget: Is there a reason they are not available for Standard licenses?

If you are a standard licensed user, go to the home page, and try to add a board from the widget panel...it isn't there. But it is there for contributor licensed users. I found this article which seems to be the only place this is mentioned: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/basics/home/use-home-area/add-edit-remove.... Is there a reason a feature like this isn't available to standard users?

If you are a standard user only and not an admin, I would have you check in with your admin. It's somewhat possible that they may have configured the access level in a way that would have accidentally removed the ability to add boards. But, I would also have your admin submit a case to Support.

For my side, if I use the out of the box Standard access level on my test user and confirm that it has no layout template attached at any level, I am able to see the boards widget, add it, and add a board while on it. I know there was a time a couple of years ago, where users who did not have boards as an icon in their waffle menu would similarly not be able to add the widget in Home, but I think the product team worked around that restriction. Support would know more.

1) not sure what you mean by "try and add a board" from the widget panel.

2) when I go to the article you linked to, it talks about *default* widgets and how to add widgets. In this case I interpret "default widgets" as widgets that just show up without your say-so (i.e. if a layout template is not applied to this user).

3) in testing a contributor vs a standard user, I don't see that the boards widget shows up by default on either the contributor or the standard user. However, both users are able to see the boards widget, add it to their Home page, and add a board from the boards widget. So from the "default" section's standpoint, the mention of boards is likely to be a typo.

If you're not able to see this behavior in your instance, I recommend reaching out to Support since they will be able to walk you through some basic troubleshooting steps, such as clearing cache and cookies, or maybe talk through what your expectations are, vs what the functionality provides.

1) As a standard user, if I go to Home -> Customize I do not see Boards as a widget I can add.

2) It also is not available as a default widget as you put it.

3) We're not seeing it at all on standard licenses.

If you expand the "Widgets available for specific license types" section in the article it seems to imply that there are certain widgets available for certain license types. That's the question I was asking and we want to know why there's a difference between what widgets a standard user has available to them vs a contributor.

Excellent, thank you. I'm the admin and I don't see anything odd or turned off, but it's possible I missed something. I'll open a case to support and see what they say. Good to know you can see it. It is driving us crazy! Thanks for your help.
