HELP! I removed fields and modified my custom form and now all historical data is missing from the objects associated with the form. Is there a way to get this historical data back???? Please help! I came across this article after I made this huge mistake: If you remove fields from a custom form, the historical data is removed also from the objects associated with the form. For more information about removing fields from a custom form without losing historical data, see ""https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/articles/216668948-Managing-Custom-Forms#Removing_Fields_from_a_Custom_Form_without_Losing_Data">Removing Fields from a Custom Form without Losing Data." Hi Nicole, Don't Panic* I've been there (as might others who choose to commiserate admit). You have a brief window available to grab that data (or at least as it was last Friday) from your domain.preview.workfront.com environment before it refreshes this weekend. Depending how much data you've lost, I'd suggest you consider these three options (in order): OPTION 1: open up preview on one monitor, production in the other, and manually type it back in OPTION 2: create a report in preview that pulls all of said data (along with the ID and name of the object it was on; e.g. Project ID / Name), export it to Excel, save it (and back it up), then over time, manually enter it into production OPTION 3: same as option 2, but using our "http://store.atappstore.com/product/excel-updater/">Excel Updater solution to restore the data in a more automated fashion OPTION 4: use our "http://store.atappstore.com/product/workfront-snapshot/">Workfront Snapshot solution to back up your preview environment, and engage our assistance in doing a "http://store.atappstore.com/product/workfront-merge-split/">mini-merge to restore the information at a later date Regards, Doug *42 Doug Den Hoed - AtAppStore Got Skills? Doug, you are my hero!!!!! I was able to get into the preview environment, create a report and save it out in excel so I can manually enter the lost data back into my custom form. Wow, have I learned a lesson today. Thank you very much for your quick response! Nicole Tiberi Whirlpool Corporation

Wonderful Nicole, I'm very pleased you were able to grab your data in time. That's a hot stove touch easily remembered. Regards, Doug Doug Den Hoed - AtAppStore Got Skills? Lend a hand! https://community.workfront.com/participate/unanswered-threads

One more option in addition to @Doug Den Hoed - AtAppStore 's expert advice......if you have a Custom Refresh sandbox then you may be able to go back a lot further than 1 week, depending on when you last refreshed it (as it doesn't auto refresh weekly). This can be a life-saver if you only notice the missing data after the Preview has refreshed itself Obviously the data could also be quite old, but it's better than nothing in most cases!.
