Having trouble getting accurate real-time data? Timely task updates may play a role here!! Make sure that end-users are all aligned on expectations:
- Everyone should know what “done” really means. Does “done” to each team member mean that the task is ready for approval, that all activities, deliverables and approvals have been completed, or something else entirely? Is everyone up to speed on that definition?
- Setting task update and completion expectations - like on statuses, planned/actual dates and custom data - may help surface correct data. Does your team know how frequently their work data should be updated, how to update it and what details to updates?
Don’t assume, but instead check in with your people to make sure that everyone is on the same page! Consistency and communication will help ensure data integrity.
