    All of my task custom fields fall under here and appear to work the same as I'd hope for... If not for you, you can always create another (probably not ideal) custom calculated field at the project level, that brings over the task level data and filter like that.. Calculation would be, CONCAT(Task.Field Name) & Change "Field Name" to the field you're trying to pullin.
