Delegating Delegated Approvals

Hi All, I have a question about approvals that I'm hoping someone can answer. We have 3 people in a team; department head, team manager and a team member. The Department Head is out of the office for the day so delegates their approvals to the team manager. The Team Manager is then out of the office too on the same day so delegates their approvals to the team member. Should the Departments Head approvals be auto directed to the team member as well?
