Custom Formatting on Calculated Field

I am trying to create a calculated TASK field which displays the planned completion date of the task, and if the status of the task is complete, the background turns green. Is this even something that can be done within the calculated field or does this formatting need to be done on the report itself? I'm open to either one, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to make it happen either way. The report is a PROJECT report that pulls in several calculated TASK fields, which I'd then like to format to turn green when the status of the task is complete. Anyone have any tips? Thank you!

I'm pretty sure formatting is only possible in a report, not in a form field. You can still do the calc field in the form and then color it in the report though.
