Because my team only uses planned completion dates, it would be extremely beneficial to have the ability to view planned completion dates on both the My Work calendar strip AND the task home page.
Agreed. Being able to further customize to completely hide the commit date in the system would be extremely beneficial. I love the fact that the new calendar will go off the Planned Completion date and I've already customized the My Work page to remove the commit date from prominence but the fact that I can't do anything with how the Commit Date shows on the task page is still frustrating.
At a bare minimum, when a user navigates to a task there needs to be a clearer visual indicator that the date they're seeing under the assignments area on the task page IS NOT THE PLANNED COMPLETION DATE.
Too many times someone commits to a task and then dates shift and they're still referencing their original commit date instead of the due date. This causes no end of user frustration with the system and most of the responses I get when trying to train them on this consist of "well that's dumb, why's that not the due date?"
For those interested enough in "undoing" Commit Dates using a workaround while this item gets considered and planned, I invite you to consider our Synchronize Commit Date (to Planning Date) module of our UberCalc solution.
I completely agree, my company really needs this feature too. We have so much confusion around what the actual date is, and having the commit date show up on that large assigned to panel is super misleading for us. That screen should be a one-stop shop for knowing expectations, so the true due date should be there, not what someone has set the date to (so the user does not have to go back out into their my work task list or go look at that project's task list)
This is an issue that has been trying to gain traction and getting NOWHERE with Workfront. It's very frustrating!!
Here is another IDEA EXCHANGE. Surely there is enough people who are concerned about this ESPECIALLY since the new HOME rolling out in JANUARY doesn't help this situation at all! Clicking through each task to match dates (if workers even realize they don't match) CAN'T be expected. This tool is supposed to SAVE TIME not CREATE MORE WORK!
Thank you for your feedback. We are looking at the overall strategy of the Home page and have added this to the list to re-visit as we work on that strategy. We appreciate the time you took to provide your feedback. Thanks, again!
