Template owner is not part of the object team

I create templates. I want my name on those templates as the owner. But I should not be part of the project team, or task/issue assignment, or in any way associated with an object created from those templates. I am the template owner only. This has gone back and forth many times. Just when I think it's fixed, all of a sudden I'm getting dozens of on-screen notifications again for projects I have nothing to do with. A template is a shell. It is never considered work product. As such, the owner name field should be blanked out whenever that template is used on or for a project or any other object.

I agree. When a project is created from a template, by default the template owner becomes the project owner. The project owner can be changed, but it's often missed.

I think these should be separate fields - "who owns the template and who manages updates to the template" vs. "who owns the projects created from the template"

Our workaround is to leave the Template Owner field blank on the templates, so the Project Owner defaults to the project creator (but as the original poster noted, then it's hard to see who's responsible for the template itself)
