Task Level Baseline Feature

I think it would be great if we had a baseline feature at a task level. Meaning, a task level field and a button that allows an individual to capture a baseline for ALL tasks. This will allow our teams to be able to see at a report level every time a project's "Due On" date changes and by how much. So, I would imagine this being a button that when hit the "baseline date" would be locked on what the current "Due On" date is. After someone clicks the button and the baseline date per task is locked, and then they can change the due date. Overall, this would be an easy way to monitor if our projects are slipping and by how much. Please inquiry for clarification.

I can't give this idea enough thumbs up. At a minimum, I would at least like to see the impact to the critical path and if the planned completion date get pushed.

@Daryl March,

Since I wrote this, I actually find the baselining functionality and created a pretty cool view with fields to show the changes. The two highlighted fields are custom to show what happened and who caused it (usually client :) ).
