Reports: bring back "Show Filters" button

Description - before the new release on October 17th, Reports had a button called "Show Filters". Please add this back!

Why is this feature important to you - having a button you can use to quickly show/hide the report's filters empowered users to know exactly what the report was pulling, without having to go into the Edit page (more clicks, navigates away from data, takes time to load). It also empowered me as a SysAdmin to quickly triage issues or provide explanations without having to click more, navigate away, etc.

How would you like the feature to work - add back the Show Filters button that expands and collapses a summary of the report's filters

Current Behaviour - button has been removed with October 17th release

 

I would like to note that in my Production environment, I am still seeing this button. However, in Preview, in others' Production environments, and according to the Release Notes, it should be gone. I am submitting this Idea on the assumption that it is intended to be removed, where it is not already. EDIT: The Show Filter button is gone from our Production environment as of October 22.

I am also currently seeing the "Show Filters" option in my Production environment as well. And I did not realize that it was scheduled to be removed. I don't think it should be removed either. It is an easy way to see a report's applied filters with just one click. Why make it harder to get to the information?

I've opened a support ticket for my instance. Nothing in the release notes says this is intentional, so I'm REALLY hoping its just a glitch they can fix. Either that, or I'm tempted to re-route all the new 'why does this report work this way?' questions in my help queue as tickets to Support and let them answer all the new requests I get instead.

We submitted a support case for this and our Assigned Support Engineer advised that this was an intentional change included in the 24.10 release. We did not find these specific updates documented anywhere in the 24.10 release notes. It's frustrating to have frequently used functionality removed, and without notice or a viable solution to see report filters for those with only view access to reports.

Well, I guess I can just forward all the new tickets I'm going to get to Support now, and have them explain how the filters work so I can provide that answer to my users. I'm certainly not giving my entire instance edit rights on all reports so they can look at it that way!

Having this button helps others who do not have admin/manage access to the report to easily identify issues with the filters.

Hey @Kiersten_K, I thought this too - however a coworker is seeing some reports with the button and some without. Is that your experience too, or do you see a whole swath of reports with the button added back in? 

 

Hopefully it's just a glitch for him and Workfront is indeed bringing the button back on the whole!!

@-JC - I went into a handful of different report types and saw that the button present. The report types I went into were: Task, Project, Notes and Proof Approval.
