Replace Custom Forms without losing data

We keep three versions of each custom form: as Task, Project and Issue so we can attach it to the request queue, the project template and a task if we convert a request as a task.

There are times we need to make extensive changes to the form and it would be very helpful to be able make the changes to one version and then save a copy using a "save over" function to update the other 2 versions.

Currently you have to update each version separately. If you delete one of the versions and then use the copy feature to replace it, wherever the form was is removed and you lose all of the data. (Hard lesson learned)

We do the same thing, and I'm betting we're not the only ones. I'd ask that we have the option of selecting a Universal form type or checkboxes for Project/Task/Issue that effectively creates the three forms but you only ever create and manage it as a single form.

This corresponds to an overarching integration we would like between projects, tasks, and issues. We would like to be able to create reports that intermix all three instead of being limited to creating a project report and then a separate issue report. Dashboards don't work since the two separate objects aren't integrated.

I was just going to log this exact issue & did a search first & found that you already logged it. We have a request process & from that request we may keep it as an issue, convert to a task or convert to a project. Current Workfront architecture requires me to have 3 custom forms (Issue/Request, Task & Project). If I modify a drop down option is on all forms, it will update all, BUT if I make major changes or additions I have to add on every form. My forms are complicated & have many different dependencies & I have to go one-by-one to update all. I'd like not only a way to copy over the forms, but a way to choose to sync them. This would cut down on the administrative overhead & ensure a more consistent quality system. I have also lost data with copying over forms:(

I also, agree that we need the overarching integration between projects, tasks & issues.

Related issue: Task conversion is especially risky. When converting a request to a task, there is no way that I can default the task custom form to appear - so if the staff member forgets to choose it, we lose the customer data. (We don't like to keep both an issue and a task open for the same item.) I'd like so that if we convert an issue to a task - that the data on the custom form ALWAYS follows that item. Currently Workfront treats the objects as totally separate items (project, task, issue)
