The new document updates rolling up to the task level are a great new feature.
Here are some suggestions that may help with some pain points we are having.
- Outside-the-proof replies need to also appear on the parent task’s updates feed as they’re often missed. People tend to hit Reply to their notifications and don’t bother to open the proofing tool. These replies are hidden in a stream of document updates, most of which we can see in the proofing tool.
- To help discourage outside-the-proof replies, the Reply button on any “Proof Comment:” could instead open the proof and not allow for an outside reply.
- Hyperlink the words “Proof Comment:” to also encourage opening the proof. This would also colorize the words and help them stand out from regular updates.
- Have all document updates also visible inside the proofing tool! (Now all updates would appear consistently inside or outside the proofing tool. No more hunting which ones are where.)
- On the task level where document updates are now visible, show a system update for the document that says “35 Proof Comments” and a hyperlink to encourage opening the proof to read them.
