New Home: Admin ability to customize left side Work List

I’m only seeing the ability to control the right side panel via the settings in Setup > Interface > Layout Templates > Customize Home. We would like to have admin ability to customize the Work List on the left side as well. Specifically, we would like to be able to customize the sorting of the work list. We would prefer that the work list be sorted according to “Task Start Date” instead of “Task Completion Date”. The vast majority of our tasks span multiple days, so it would make more sense for us to be able to sort in the Work List by when the task needs to be started.

Agreed. For projects where task owners see repetitive Task names, it would be great to have the ability to further customize the left side of the work list to pull in Project & Task #s which are relevant for mu users. We have delayed launching this tool due to this limitation.

We really need this. We have a large number of tasks that are identical at the lowest, root level (e.g., Move Change). The root tasks are differentiated by the name of the Parent Task. I can add the Parent Task Name to the data at the right but the user has to now scroll through multiple tasks to find the one that they really want when they see the Parent Task Name on the right. In the old My Work, I was able to add the Parent Task Name as part of the My Work layout template. So, this is a step backwards for us.

I agree. Given that a project may have multiple tasks under it, admin should be able to modify the left panel to show task reference numbers.

Agreed. We have a large number of clients who have been asking for this functionality and refuse to use Home until this is addressed.

Yes, please! Specifically, sorting by Planned Start Date is crucial to us as we seek to move faster and be more agile. Like the OP, we have tasks that can span several days, but only need a few hours (but more than can just be completed on the last day). Sorting by Planned Completion Date encourages folks to wait until the last minute to complete a task and they may not have enough time.

We really need this as well. We need to be able to see the planned completion and commit date of a task at the same time, not ONLY when you click on the individual task, but when you are looking at the whole task list. If our planned completion and commit dates don't match, it causes complete havoc on our calendars!! We use calendars ALOT and tasks get dragged out for multiple days, weeks, or even months, depending on when the original "planned completion" date was.

How is this coming?? Any updates? January is quickly approaching and our team is FREAKING OUT about not being able to see planned and commit dates all in one view from the New HOME area!!
