Markdown Support in Comments and Descriptions

I'd like to be able to differentiate code in comments and descriptions. To my knowledge, there isn't even an option for monospace text for portions of a comment, but I could be wrong there.

I'd like for Workfront to adopt a system similar to JIRA.

There are lots of apps that support markdown, this site aggregates them and their level of support.

Even in this "post an idea" form, there is no method for me to use a code block or something similar. If I wanted to do something like this in JIRA, it would look like the following:

{code:html}

<a href="/link-to-something.html">Link Text</a>

{code}

A similar request has been made in the past but it didn't get many votes.
