Make Workfront Full Screen.

Get rid of the fixed width format. Project managment is all about viewing data. I have a 4k monitor at my desk. I wrote a small hack that bypasses the default CSS to make it full screen and the results are amazing. I would like it much better if this was default functionality not something I have to hack my way into.

Hello, Workfronters,

I have good news here! We are planning to make Report and Dashboard detail pages responsive to fit your screens. For now only these 2 pages are planned to be updated, but based on your feedback from this change, we might consider applying it to other parts of the application as well.

Stay tuned for more updates on this!

Hi Lilit - that's great news that those 2 areas are being done. To us and JUST AS IMPORTANT is to have the system display the Project Tasks tab in full screen width. Our users live in these screens all day and the most overall benefit will be provided once the Tasks tab is full screen.

I'm glad we are getting at least a look at this, but as David mentioned, the two areas under discussion are helpful, but not what is really needed. The task view is where all the work is done and only being able to see a limited number of columns is a problem, especially in gantt mode.

Seems like a pretty obvious UI idea. You have a giant screen but are unnecessarily limited in screen real estate? Poor design decision for sure.

Hi Richard - spot on. This shouldn't even NEED to be an idea. This is basic stuff that every product should have these days. I'm glad that they're starting on this but the biggest win for users will be fixing the Tasks screen where most users spend the most time. Really hope to see Workfront at least commit to doing this. Before this idea is marked as DONE.

Good news! We've considered your feedback, and made following pages wide screen:

  • Global Reporting tabs (Reports, Dashboards, Calendars)
  • Report and Dashboard result pages
  • Project, Task and Issue detail pages with ALL of their subtabs, including Flash apps and Staffing

The change is currently in Preview and is to be released to production with our Fall release.

Thanks!

Hi Lilit,

I've checked it out and it seems to be working well for the pages it's been enabled for and will make a big difference for users.

As is the customer's perogative, we always want more. :) So, when will it be enabled for other screens such as My Work, Documents, Timesheets, Project/Portfolio lists etc.? Any chance of getting these into the next release too?

Thanks, David.

Hello, David,

We might consider changing this on other screens as well depending on the feedback we get.

Thanks!

In preview it's a nice progression thats for sure. As the Admin I receive feedback that the tool looks very dated. This update should allow better reporting as many of my users keep needing to have two reports to view their data. Especially if you have larger displays with higher resolutions behind it.
