Enhancements to Idea Exchange

The Idea Exchange has been great, but as our community embraces it, I see some opportunities to make it better and more useful. Some suggestions are:

1. Create categories under each topic to better organize ideas and make it easier for people to find items they are really interested in.

2. All community users to report duplicate issues and/or suggest combining/linking issues (and make the combination/linkage happen). I feel this one is REALLY critical. There are a number of duplicate/similar issues out there that are diluting votes, as well as making the Idea Exchange harder to navigate.

3. Allow users to delete issues they submitted. For example, I submitted something I then found to already exist. I would love to remove the item so as not to clutter up the Idea Exchange, but I can't.

I agree wholeheartedly with #2!

I would also add a fourth item that it would help if product owners would review and validate ideas. We cannot tell whether or not they are being reviewed and there may be ideas requested that can already be done in the tool through different configuration.

I would also suggest including this idea in the mix:

See Stackoverflow.com for a model example of community collaboration. Other features that would improve Idea Exchange:

- Favorites (without the notifications from updates)

- upvote / downvote of comments

- allowing users to flag posts as duplicates

- multiple categories per post (ie API and Reporting)

- "Solved", "Closed", etc statuses from workfront moderators to give feedback on the ideas (this could help with letting people now a feature is already do-able or that a feature will not be worked on)

I appreciate the search feature for Idea Exchange, but have a suggestion to improve it:

When searching Idea Exchange, the user is presented with the first 10 of all results returned. When the user clicks to view the next page of results, the listed results are not Idea Exchange results, but Help results for the same keyword. It took me too much time to figure out that to view the 2nd, 3rd, and so on page of Idea Exchange results, I have to click on the next page, then click the Idea Exchange button at top of the results list every single time.

When clicking to a different page of results, the category of results should match the category that was selected on the previous page.
