The new resource planner functionality defaults to loading all projects a person has access to see (assuming all the new resource planning prerequisites are met). For large organizations like ours, that means a capacity planner could have 800+ projects to oversee. In attempting to load that much data on screen today in production, we found that the Resource Planner tab it churns and churns (5+ minutes of churning) just in its attempt to load that data. When I am only listed as resource planne on a small # of projects, it loads reasonably well.
SO --- If it is the case that the resource planner was not built to handle 800+ projects on initial screen load, I propose that Workfront implements a change to make it so that the initial screen loads to a filter panel so that we can apply filters first before running the planner.
The alternative will be that we have to add/remove ourselves to the projects we want to manage at any given time - and that feels like an administrative nightmare.
