Commenting Data

Description - Harness the power of data analytics using Workfront Reporting or Fusion to systematically extract and categorize proof comments within a specified timeframe or based on other filters like file name or version. This endeavor aims to pinpoint areas ripe for improvement, refine training modules, and optimize processes by analyzing comment interactions and resolutions at critical stages. Moreover, this will allow us to collect a robust data reservoir to fuel AI-driven insights in the future. Adobe confirmed this isn't possible within Workfront reporting or Fusion's API capabilities.

Why is this feature important to you - Collecting data to improve efficiency moving forward

How would you like the feature to work - Run a report on all comments using various filters and have native columns available that show comment text, the proof version number and file name associated with the comment (NOT the latest version of the proof like we can see now with custom reports). If we can gather all this data into Excel that can be plugged into AI later to gain insights, this would be really helpful.

Current Behaviour - Not possible at the moment per support

In a perfect world, how would you like this report to look? What columns would you create? What would the individual filters look like?

You may be able to get a lot of what you're looking for now. I've been told many times by support that you cant do something only to go ahead and do it. Albeit often using workarounds and hacks, but achieving it nonetheless.

Thanks for offering some support, @RandyRoberts ! You are an amazing resource. Where I was running into issues was getting the proof file name where the comment actually lives instead of the latest proof version that was showing. I want to be able to analyze what kind of comments are being made in late stages to provide guidance on what can be left as is and to also understand which clients are having a lot of edits in final stages. We are an agency with a lot of different clients as an FYI.

This is what I was hoping for:

Filter options (prompt instead would be nice too):

  • Note text contains:
  • Version With Comment Contains: Filter where commented version file name contains the text indicating what stage it was at:_FR // _IR // _T1 // Etc. since we have specific version file name instructions.
  • Portfolio:
  • Project:
  • Proof version number: This may be helpful as well if some departments don't use specific file names.

If I could actually show the replies, that would be awesome.
