Better notification when someone on PTO

When in the Tasks tab and your assigning a task to someone, if that user has PTO recorded in Workfront during the timeframe of that task, the only thing that displays is a yellow triangle next to the persons name that you have to hover your cursor over to read the message that the user is away during that timeframe. Can there be a pop-up instead as no one will read this message?

We would really like this as well. We have been getting complaints if someone doesn't respond on a notification right away but if the person is out of the office, they cannot. It would be good to set an Out of Office just like MS Outlook

Hear hear -- my organization also is looking for Workfront functionality that informs end-users when a coworker they've tagged in an update/comment is out of the office. Drew, I'll vote up your related idea and post this same comment there!

We would like to see a way for a user to create an "Out of office message" (in addition to the current ability to log time off) that would either auto-send or notify someone who is trying to tag the PTO/Out of Office employee in a comment.

IN SUMMARY:

User A:

  • Knows they will be out of the office September 7-11
  • Blocks off time in their "time off" calendar (already an existing feature in Workfront)
  • Sets up an "out of office message" (or the ability to use a system default out of office message), so if they are tagged in a comment, the tagger is notified that User A is out of the office

User B:

  • Is unaware of User A's PTO schedule and has been working with them on an existing project
  • On September 7, User B tags User A in a comment on a project they're working on together--immediately, there is a pop-up or * with User B's out of office notification, which helps to manage User B's expectations that a response from User A won't come until they return from PTO and allow User B to consider tagging a different team member who is in the office that week (currently User B would hear nothing all week)

I think in spirit, my feature request is similar/the same, with just a use case built in and making sure the user could set up a detailed, custom out of office message instead of something generic.


Now that I see the other idea, it's amazing to me that it's been out there since 2017, has lots of votes and still isn't on the roadmap since it's a barrier to collaboration.
