Allow User to be Assigned to Multiple Companies

We have projects that are essentially co-ops, where multiple clients are involved in the same projects. As such, we have users that support more than one client on these projects. Currently functionality only allows you to assign a user to one company, but this hinders those users from interacting with tickets from other companies i.e. commenting, tagging, being tagged. There is a wall of security there which I understand, but it would be very helpful if we could assign more than one company. You can assign multiple team, groups, and resource pools, why not companies?
