Add a timer to Timesheets that helps to manually track time spent on a task.
I would have the timer available anywhere you can currently log time.
Hi Jennifer and Pete. I invite you to try out our Stopwatch solution for tracking Workfront Project, Task and Issue via timer, and runs on both browsers and SmartPhones.
One of my colleagues asked for this as well, so I have upvoted your idea and will copy his thoughts below for additional consideration:
"add a time counter to all tasks and timesheet views so you can just hit the "play" button and it would start counting seconds as you work on a task. It should prompt the user every hour to confirm they are still working on a task, and stop tracking if the user leaves that screen (loads a different workfront page). So you could open your timesheet everyday and just press the play button as you work on things throughout the day. And of course, all times could still be edited."
This could easily be a browser extension or build it into the page design within the system.
Stopwatch/timer concept is critical for productivity or for teams who are managing higher throughput each day.
A must-have in my opinion. Time sheets can often inflate hours where as timers/stopwatches can be way more accurate at a task level.
The 3rd party plugin for this is okay but an official app could really improve this.
Tyler Shannon -- you can actually add the third party stopwatch as a plugin to chrome. Makes it much easier than having multiple windows open. We use this at our company and must say that the dev team who developed the plugin is extremely helpful! Highly recommend the plugin.

Thanks, I've looked into this plugin already. UI design is not the most exciting and the price was a little high I felt. May consider trying to build one ourselves through the API, ultimately I'm surprised it's not offered out of the box as a standard feature in WF! Appreciate the feedback and perhaps we'll give end up giving it a try!

I'm glad you found our plugin, and appreciate you considering it. To clarify, the annual fee includes unlimited use by unlimited users, which (knowing what it took to build it) is considerably less than what I'd expect an internal dev team to invest in hand-rolling their own. That said, it's an excellent way to learn about the Workfront API, so if you go that route, I wish you every success.
Ability to add comments to the item logged on the time sheet from the task/issue time logging view.
There is no easy way to track your time on a task. If you have a work request, once you accept the work and it moves over to your working on, there should be a stop watch function in view. When someone is working on the task, they can click start time, the stop watch starts tracking the time, 1 minute 2 minute 15 minutes 1 hour and 5 minutes, etc. you may need to stop the time to go to a meeting or maybe someone is at your tasks, if you stop the time the total stop watch time is added in logged time for you, you can start the stop watch again when you work on it again! This will make tracking time easier and accurate!
