2017.3 RELEASE - NEW EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS FORMAT

I have feedback from our users that the new style is not popular, especially the fact you have to scroll to the bottom of the email to see the latest comment/update. Previously this showed at the top and was much preferred and seen as more efficient. We really need this to change as it is causing confusion.

TOTALLY AGREE! The profile pics are WAY too big, it's difficult to tell what comments are from what users, and the worst is scrolling down to see the most recent message in the thread.

PLEASE go back to having the newest message on top! And smaller users pics!

I also agree. The most recent message should appear first. It's confusing to have to scroll down and find the most recent comment. Also, the photos are way too big and get in the way.

I agree. The new email notification format is not good. Please change it back to having the most recent on top and smaller (on no) pictures.

This was the exact same feedback that I received from my own users.

Another issue with the email is that the "See it in Workfront" hyperlink does not take users directly to the update being commented on, but rather just to the tasks tab on the project rather than the updates tab.

We've been receiving comments that the profile photos are way too big, and that people don't like the new layout in general.

I agree.

My users have also requested we revert back tot the previous format. Having the latest comment at the top and shrinking the profile photos.

I would like to add my clients' frustration with the new email notification format, for the same reasons already cited (not having the latest comments appear at the top, and photos/graphics appearing disproportionally in size).

I agree. My users complained about the same problem (not having the latest comments at the top).

Big pictures and bad formatting is problem only of some email clients. For example all versions of Outlook that I came across including the latest Office 365. I believe this should be fixed by Workfront soon.

I posted this to a similar thread, but this has more activity to re-posting:

I am fielding a lot of complaints from our users about the new format. Here is a summary of the issues, which are mostly around the layout but also information architecture:

  • User pics do not appear on Macs (this image is an undesirable feature at the size it is anyway)
  • The CSS is breaking in Macs in general.
  • Best UX practices dictate the newest, most pertinent information should be surfaced at the top, not the very bottom.
  • Large images contributing to too much vertical height.
  • Images are distracting to the actual content that needs attention, though, if smaller this might not be so detracting.
  • There is unusual spacing around the email elements creating either excessive or not enough padding between things.
  • We often will have really long notes posted in WF, so the potential for these emails to get really long is great.
  • People working out of their WF email notifications have to scroll through even the shortest of these creates numerous, tiny slow downs that add up.
