After doing some digging in Adobe engineering plans it looks like RTEs in Touch UIs is tentatively targeted to be released in 6.1 SP1 at the end of Q1 2016 (https://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/kb/aem61-available-hotfixes.html). The initial 6.1 release supports inline editing outside of dialogs so you may have to temporarily break up the dialogs and get creative with your solution until the desired functionality is released. In the mean time...Could you use multiple-inplace-editors:https://...

Not necessarily. I suggest that you first consider how the metadata will be used after the metadata is populated. Is it descriptive information for authors? Is it used for search purposes? Is any of it confidential? Is it queried? Will apps such as Photoshop need to use the data? Will be be used by devices such as cameras? There are a plethora of use cases out there that may apply to your assets. Identify the ones that are relevant for your solution and that will help inform your decision. For e...

I am sure that there are varying opinions on how to best setup metadata but here is an article that I wrote a while ago on it to give you some direction:http://ghhutch.com/aem-dam-metadata-namespace-selection/Let me know if this helps.

As far as metadata management is concerned AEM has built in metadata extraction and write back. AEM can be configured to expose metadata within the Assets editor so it can be viewed/updated.Here is general information on Metadata Management:https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-1/administer/content/assets/metadata.htmlIn terms of INDD here are the asset management features that are supported (Look for INDD):https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-1/administer/content/assets/assets-formats.html#Suppo...

If this bulk activation is going to happen frequently I suggest that you shy away from workflows due to the overhead that they introduce. I suggest that you set an activation limit, such as 100, and adjust the frequency that the job runs so to best work within your system constraints. With each run you will chip away at the number of items that need to be activated. What do you think?

There are a few ways to do this.If you want to activate/deactivate a small number of pagesUse the on/off time property on individual pages/content. (https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-0/author/page-authoring/publishing-pages.html#Scheduled%20Activation/Deactivation%20(On/Off%20Time))If you want to activate/deactivate in bulkWrite an OSGI service using sling scheduling (https://sling.apache.org/documentation/bundles/scheduler-service-commons-scheduler.html)Alternatively you could get creative w...

Here is a simple snippet that I whipped together to get the previous steps comment from within the execute method: public void execute(WorkItem item, WorkflowSession session, MetaDataMap args) throws WorkflowException { // Get the current workflow List historyList = session.getHistory(item.getWorkflow()); int listSize = historyList.size(); HistoryItem lastItem = historyList.get(listSize-1); String comment = lastItem.getComment(); if(comment != null && comment.length() > 0) { log.debug("Previous ...

As usual within AEM there are many ways to tackle this but here are my thoughts:For a site with many translations and follow the same business process I suggest adding a Dynamic Participant Chooser Workflow step that looks up the language of the page/asset and assigns the appropriate group (Use groups instead of users within workflows). Note: In this case you will need to create a group for each translation and assign users to those groups. Its probably best to create a naming convention for the...

maskRe is supposed to prevent certain characters from being entered into a field. I tried to get it working on a textfield but was unsuccessful due to a JS error. Basically you're supposed to be able to add a the property such as maskRe=/[a-zA-Z\s]*/ and this example will prevent any char other than letters and spaces from being entered into the field.According to the docs (https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/cq/5-6-1/widgets-api/index.html?class=CQ.form.PathField):maskRe : filter out keystrokes befo...
