Re: Other people's experience with audio quality - Adobe LiveCycle 29-03-2010
We are also running in a live site with mostly US to US participants although we have done early trials with clients in the UK as well. We also use the platform internally to host our team standup meetings and it works relatively well as long as everyone has reasonable bandwidth available to support all of the streams and everyone if wearing a headset to avoid echo...We set up standard values for video and mic settings that we think work well for different connection speeds as well as expose bot...

Re: Other people's experience with audio quality - Adobe LiveCycle 25-03-2010
I have found that the best audio you are going to get is by requiring v10 of the player and setting up to use the Speex codec (set AudioPubliser.codec to SoundCodec.SPEEX). You still won't get builtin AEC since that is not yet supported by the flash player (many discussions/requests on this front...), but with either headphones or hardware AEC (I use a simple logitech usb speaker phone) the sound quality is pretty good. Without v10 and Speex, audio is unusable. There are also audio controls you c...

Re: Support for better Echo Cancellation? - Adobe LiveCycle 08-03-2010
t-shirts? You know how to get to a hacker's heart... Thanks Eric - I saw that post as well, but hadn't seen any serious discussion in the LCCS forum and wanted to make sure that the LCCS team knew that we are interested in having this functionality added to this great product. For those that are interested, there is a long read available at: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-273-Chris

Support for better Echo Cancellation? - Adobe LiveCycle 08-03-2010
What is the best practice for echo cancellation on the audio streams? I am already setting echoSuppression to true on the MicrophoneManager instance, but that doesn't really seem to have much affect with a user who has separate speaker and mic installation. At this point, we recommend our users to either wear headphones (to avoid any echo from the speaker output being picked up by the local mic) or to use a usb speaker phone with builtin echo cancellation. Niether one is a really great solution.....

Questions about scheduled maintenance of the LCCS service - Adobe LiveCycle 24-02-2010
Hi - Today I got the notice off the acrobat health rss feed about the upcoming scheduled maintenance of the LCCS service.A couple of questions:(1) How often should we anticipate there being scheduled maintenance that will interrupt service?(2) Can we, the users, request that scheduled maintenance be moved to less inconvenient hours? 5 - 7pm PST is a prime time for our business (we conduct secure online therapy sessions and many people seek our service after they get off work for the day).Thanks,...

Re: Adding 2nd WebcamSubscriber Results in Application Hang at Runtime - Adobe LiveCycle 24-02-2010
Hey Nigel - Thanks for the response. I figured it out this morning... While I don't have any callbacks set on the audio subscriber (or publisher), when adding the second webcam subscriber I blindly copied over all of the callbacks for userBooted, streamChance and streamDelete which I didn't really need on the second subscriber. The callback for userBooted on the camera also deletes the user's audio stream via the following: cSession.streamManager.deleteStream(StreamManager.AUDIO_STREAM,streamDes...

Re: How to detect when service is down? - Adobe LiveCycle 22-02-2010
I updated AccountManager.keepalive to capture any errors raised by the underlying call to do_initialize and return the value from trying to login again if a username is supplied. Otherwise I just return false.Should catch the case that I was seeing, but time will tell... Have to see if happen againThanks

Adding 2nd WebcamSubscriber Results in Application Hang at Runtime - Adobe LiveCycle 22-02-2010
I can't say that I really know what is causing this, but I added a second subscriber for webcams in my interface (one displays other conference participants in a larger format and the second one is limited to only display the local user's webcam) and now after running the application for a random period of time the ui just hangs. Here are some more details:(1) The two subscribers on my page use the same callback functions for camera booted, paused, etc.(2) hang isn't associated with new users en...
