I have a dropdown containing a list of consumables. I am already using the 'Specify Item Values' to bind the consumables product code in another field that populates depending on what's chosen.I want to have another field populate with the quantity type (roll, box etc) of the consumable chosen from the dropdown. Is there a way of having this second field relate to the dropdown? Thanks.

I am having a problem with using a Switch statement in the change event of a dropdown list. I want the user to select a choice from a dropdown which causes a subform containing just text to become visible. I have used the code below successfully:var newValue = this.boundItem(xfa.event.newText);switch (newValue){ case "1": auw.presence="visible"; cdrs.presence="hidden"; eds.presence="hidden"; excel.presence="hidden"; fam.presence="hidden"; hbcis.presence="hidden"; emr.presence="hidden"; mdp.prese...

Hi - I am wanting to use a selection from a dropdown to hide/show 17 subforms that contain text only.I've tried if/else statements that I've used in the same way before but I'm having problems making it work this time. Is there a better way to do this when multiple subforms are required to hide/show. Thanks.

I have two drop-down lists. One includes a list of particular locations within an organisation, the other includes a list of other different type of locations. What I want is if the user chooses from the first dropdown they can't choose from the second list. I also want them to be able to delete their first choice if they change their mind and be able to choose from the second list ... and vice-versa if you know what I mean.Is this possible? Thanks for your help.

Table column disappears when new column added
Avatar

I have a table that has four columns for data to be input. This sounds a bit convoluted but I would like to have the user to be able to save the form and when reopened, they could press a button that would move the data along to the left by one so they can enter new information into the far right column. The user only wants the last four columns (the last four times they have input data) on the form and the earliest column data disappears.Would this be possible in any way? Thanks.

Hi - I have two fields that will have dollar amounts entered. If one of the fields is a higher dollar amount than the other field, a subform with a text field should open asking for an explanation. How would I do that? I don't have a great deal of coding knowledge. Thanks.

Hi Niall,I have a couple of questions related to this answer - I have a form located on our intranet and need to collect data from multiple users of the form every month into an Excel spreadsheet. What would be the best way to do this - include a button that the user presses to email me their responses as XML? If this is best, how would it be done? And can you collect the data over a month and process it in Excel in one go?Thanks for your help.

It seems to happen from the Livecycle end - when I am choosing the 'Binding' for each field the option for choosing the two date/time fields in my form doesn't appear under the 'Default Binding' panel. All other fields appear in this panel and are able to chosen.

Is it possible to have a text field sit within other text and expand horizontally to allow for entered data and the surrounding text also moves depending on how much data is entered (like in a paragraph)? Similar to entering text in to a Word form.

Drop-down binding problem

I have a drop-down list that I have populated. When an item is chosen from the drop-down list it automatically shows the code for that item in another field. I have put these codes in in the Binding section. The problem I'm having is that if a person chooses an item from the drop-down list and then change their mind, the code from the original item stays in the field as well as the new item code.Is there any way that the field can automatically change to the new item code? Thanks.
