Does anyone know if there is a way to do this via straight HTTP request, versus via Java or some other programming language. Like, is there a way to specify the UserImpl in the SOAP Envelope? Thanks.

Thanks Sid. That is how I downloaded Launchpad, and it is installed just fine (and I assume configured as well). I can see all of my policies from LCRM within the interface, but it fails when I actually try and perform an action like protecting a document, if that makes sense. I am getting the same error that mogofla mentions above upon trying to complete an action. We do not support SSL on the server, only TLS.

In case anyone ever runs into this problem in the future, the solution for me was to delete the jre folder within the workbench folder, and replace it with the latest jre downloaded straight from Oracle. Then I imported the certificate into the cacerts file. Originally I had installed java through the workbench interface, but it seems like it may have been using an old version. Hope this helps someone.

No plugins or extensions are needed if you are opening LC protected PDFs in Adobe Reader/Acrobat. I have not had success opening protected PDFs in any other viewers other than Adobe's own products. An extension is required for MS Office files (32 bit office only). Also - there are many options for making the documents expire when you want them to, globally or by user.

Just to provide a little additional info, the documents I am protecting are just standard word documents that I converted to PDF. No forms or anything.

Hello,I am using Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management ES4 to protect my documents for distribution. However, there are some situations that I am running into that have posed a problem. Specifically, I need users that have protect view and users that use Firefox / Chrome to be able to access the documents. I have seen this article XFA-based PDF forms and policy-protected documents not displayed that seems to indicate that XFA is my problem here. When I apply a flattening technique (like making the d...
