Default drop down that hides fields when entering a document

I am on LiveCycle Designer 8.0 and I have a script where, based on items chosen in a drop down, my fields change. The script seems to work fine, but I want a way to set up this form so that when the form is opened by the user, they only see the initial drop down box, rather than all of the subforms. Is there any way to do this?

Stephen,Thank you so far for your help. I really do appreciate it.It is still not working. When I set up the formula in the caluclate field, it will not calculate my AOI/SqFt. You are right. I cannot place it in the PolicyNo field or else the field becomes read only and that is a data entered field. The closest I come to getting anything is getting the numbers "255,255,0" to print as if LiveCycle think it is text. I am saving this as a dynamic, Acrobat 8. Would that make a difference? I did get ...

Here is my script, hiearchy, and a screen shot:if(Cost<100)thenPolicyNo.fillColor= "255,255,0" //yellowelsePolicyNo.fillColor= "255,255.255" //whiteendifand my hiearchy is:Table 1 Header Row Policy AddRow DelRow PolicyNo ...

Awesome! That is exactly what I need. The only issue is that, for some reason, my this.minH= "0.6813in" in the image fields quit working. When I hit reset, the image field collapses into a line and no data can be entered.

HI Paul,Yes, most of the form works great, with the exeption of the image and text field for the system diagram and I would like to thank you for your patience with me. Here is what is supposed to happen:Our systems designers will come up with a diagram that shows the flow of the system in Word or Paint. It is a process diagram and will need to be input into the form. Each diagarm (some systems will have one diagram, others will have several) may need the text field to go along with the diagram ...

I am sorry to be such a pain about this, but either I am not understanding what I need to do exactly, or this isn't working the way I need it to. Attached is the full document. As you can see, I need the system text and system diagram to be grouped together as one item (and then I have to use the same programming for the exhibits at the end. At times, the system diagram will be a half page or less, other times, it will span multiple pages. Also, when management makes changes to the systems, the ...

Oh. I see that now. I am still having problems making the form work the way I need it to (maybe it is just impossible). If I take the text field and make it expandable for multiple lines, and since the text field and the Image Field are both in a positioned subform, the text field runs over the Image Field. Can I just insert another subform and make those two flowed within the form?

HI Paul,Thank you for the input. I need to spend some time trying this out to see if it will work, but I have one question (please excuse my naiveity). When I am working with flowed subforms, I have never been able to position my data where I want without using a table as a placeholder. I see in your sample, I am able to move the rows around the subform (next to each other, under each other with a space, etc). How did you do that?

Hello All!I am having trouble getting my image fields to work the way I need them to. (Sample is attached). What I need is for the user (who will be using Reader) to enter in text information, then enter in a diagram or exhibit, then, if needed add another set of text and exibit. I will need each row to be independently added and deleted as well (similar to my text row is already set up). I have tried having a table set up and repeat the table, but the Image Field will not work properly and shri...

I have looked on help and throughout the forums, but am still unable to get this script to work. What I need is if we have Row 1, Row 2, Row 3 and need to go back and insert a row between Rows 2 & 3, we can do this. The script that I used is off LiveCycle Help, but I have seen the same script in the forums. I am missing something, but have been unable to upload an example to show me what I am doing wrong. Please help. Attached is the row I am working on.

I guess I responded too quickly. Now, the image will show up, the box will expand, I can reset the form, and it looks good (as I wanted), The problem is that the next image you try to place in the document, the image is smaller and the box will no longer expand to fit. Also, I can't get the same formula to work in another image field. Is there something else that you did?Form is attached.

I have a dynamic form where the users can import jpg images into the form. This works just fine, but when they reset the form, the image box minimizes and the users are unable to re-use the box without exiting the program and re-entering. Basically, my users are going to create a flowchart in Paint or Word, save the image as jpg and place it into the form. They will be using Adobe Reader, so it appears the field needs to be an image field. Is there any way I can make the field reset to it's star...

I knew it was something small. Thank you so much for your help!As for the third question, the System name, number, and type need to be headers at the top of every page, no matter if a field flows onto a new page or a new field begins on the new page. Most of the research I have done, the techs say to keep it on the main page and use default binding, global with this section as an overflow leader. Although this works well if a new field begins on a second page, it doesn't seem to work if a field ...

I have used these functions in the past (even on this form) without a problem, but I am running into several problems with this form that I can't figure out how to overcome:1) Several of the add field and delete fields do not work, specifically the ones under System Standards and System Quantification. I am not sure why because I have the one under Benchmarks working perfectly. Scripts are the same, except for my table references. LiveCycle is not giving me an error message for this, so I am at ...

Hiding and unhiding unused sections of a form

I know I ran across something about this last week but am unable to find it. I have a multi part form with sub forms. Within these subforms, we have the option to add and remove lines within the tables, and that is working fine. What I need now is for the form to allow the users the option to hide or unhide the entire section, if it is not pertinent. A portion of the form is attached.

Not sure what is up with that. When I set up the expand to fit subform, it input the comments box. Is there a way I can make the column expand to fit instead of having another object in the table?
