No problem, missg1021. I hope version 9 solves your problems as well. I can tell you that I spent countless hours trying to get the tab order working in version 8.2 and nothing worked. Please feel free to drop me a line anytime if you have additional questions. I know how difficult it is to have a problem/question and not have anyone to consult with. I'm currently trying to get an LC Designer form to communicate with a DB (retrieve and update data) but it's proving to be a difficult task as well...

Unfortunately, I think there is a bug in Designer 8.0. Once I loaded version 9.0 on my laptop, I was able toproperly apply the tab order. Another co-worker of mine also experienced the same problem. Hopefully you have the option to load the later version?

Niall,I've tried all that you suggested but nothing seems to work. When I edit the tab order and type in a number, Designer does not change the tab number to what I've specified. It doesn't change it at all. Some fields work fine, but others do not. I can move some fields up several numbers by using the arrows but Designer will only move them so high and then it sets them back to a lower number automatically. It's like Designer is ordering them based on how they are defined (Textfield, Table, etc....

Is there a bug within the Tab Order option in LC Designer 8.2? I cannot get certain fields to move up or down as I need them (no matter what I do). I'm pulling my hair out! The older version of Designer had an option where you could click on the fields (while holding the Ctrl key) in the order you wanted. It worked great. But 8.2 seems to have serious issues.Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get this functionality to work properly?I have 34 fields on the form and (as an example) I cannot g...

Hi Niall,Here's the thing. My form has multiple signatures and multiple Form Collections. The first signature locks the Master Page objects. The subsequent signatures locks lower Form Collections on the form. So, when the first signature is applied, the Form Collection associated to it is locked (this includes the Master Page objects). However, when the lower sections are filled out, which ultimately forces the form to grow to multiple pages) the Master Page objects become unlocked when the form ex...

I have a form that has several objects on the Master Page. They repeat (as a header) on subsequent pages when the forms grows. I've added these objects to a Form Collection. The objects lock when the correct signature is applied. However, once the form exceeds one page and the objects within the header carry over to subsequent pages, the locking is removed from these objects (on all pages).Does anyone know how to maintain the locking feature on objects within the Master Page after the form grows ...

Thanks Paul, but I've already read this article. I don't want to use a DDlist. I want to incorporate a free-form text field where a user can enter an ID and then have the form query the database for that specific ID and ultimately return the rows of data to the form (where it can be modified and re-written to the database). The DDlist is impractical when trying to work with a table that has tens of thousands of IDs. I've worked with many forms tools before that all make connecting to a DB very e...

Select Specific Database Records from Within a Form

I'm trying to find an example of a simple form that has one text box, a button (that retrieves from the database) and one additional field that will populate with information that was retrieved from the database based on the information entered into the text box. I've been unable to find a SIMPLE example of this. It can't be as complicated as it seems. I just want to enter an id, click the button, retrieve data from the database based on the id and display one column of retrieved info on the for...

Thank you, Niall. I don't think it can be done either but I figured I'd throw the question out there for those that have been working with Designer longer than I have. I was hoping there was a way to do it using something like FLEX?Kim

Is there a way to associate an attachment to a Form Object Collection so that when that section of the form is digitally signed it locks the associated attachment (subsequently allowing additional attachments to be added to other Form Object Collections on the same form that have not been digitally signed and locked yet)?
