I just deleted the task in one of our lab environments from the Daily Maintenance window under Operations -> Maintenance -> Daily Maintenance. I'll know tomorrow whether it ran tomorrow morning at 2:00 am.

Curious why you're running offline compaction with AEM 6.3. Was the online compaction now available with AEM 6.3 unable to keep up with needs of your environment or did you disable online compaction for some reason?ThanksNed

I should add we are not using DocumentNodeStore or BlobStore. Looking at https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-1724 it appears this was added for BlobStore and DocumentNodeStore.

Is there any advantage to using CopyOnRead to create a copy of the Lucene indexes on the file system when using a local TarMK Repository. For example, I have a single author running on a VM and the repository and the index folder are both stored on the same file system. I read through the JackRabbit Oak Lucene documentation and it states this about CopyOnReadLucene indexes are stored in NodeStore. Oak Lucene provides a custom directory implementation which enables Lucene to load index from NodeS...

1. What is the difference between re-indexing a Lucene index by setting the flag in CRXDEVersus 2. Forcing a rebuild of the index by deleting the index from the server and removing all the checkpints using java -jar oak-run-1.2.17.jar checkpoints crx-quickstart\repository\segmentstore rm-allDoes the reindexing do anything? I was told by Adobe tech support that rebuilding the Lucene indexes was a recommended maintenance task. Frequency as with many things based on each systems unique characterist...

We recently had an incident where a large amount of content was activated by the authoring community resulting unresponsive publishers. In addition to increasing memory and CPU on the publishers, I'm looking for possible configuration changes which would "throttle" the flush agents so the end users response time won't be severely impacted in the future.First I thought maybe this was the answerTuning the Sling Job QueuesThe bulk upload of large assets may be very resource intensive. Does anyone know if setting org.apache.jackrabbit.core.state.validatehierarchy=true in the CQ_JVM_OPTS in the start script do anything on Jackrabbit Oak? The only references I've found were for CRX.Thanks, Ned

One of the application teams was running an TarMK offline compact over the weekend (Oak 1.2.7) from a VPN connection that timed out. They then restarted it. That got me to wondering. Does anyone know if the offline compact supports restarting from where it left off in the event it gets stopped part way through?ThanksNed

Has anyone had experience adding AssertionConsumerServiceUrl to their SAML 2.0 request. Our IDP has been configured to respond to a specific endoint URL based on the value for the AssertionConsumerServiceID we pass to them in the SAML assertion. Thanks Ned

Thanks for the quick response. We do restrict access to our publishers, this was all configured during the initial installation. I will update our install guide. Ned

I've seen older instructions to create flush agents directly on publishers (When one chose to run them on the publisher instead of the author). I see from the current documentation the recommendation is to create the flush agents on the author under the "Agents on Publish" node then activate them and they run on the publisher. I tested this out on my lab environment the other day and it worked fine. So on all of our existing AEM 6.0 and AEM 6.1 instances, the flush agents were created directly o...

From our Security Engineering GroupHere is the basic flow: Receive SAML Token signed with Certificate X Does Certificate 1, registered within the Adobe application, match Certificate X? If yes, use Certificate 1 to validate the signature of the SAML Token If no, does Certificate 2, registered within the Adobe application, match Certificate X? If yes, use Certificate 2 to validate the signature of the SAML Token If no, failure Additionally, once a certificate is found, it could be flagged for som...

Multiple signing keys from the same IDP. I don't think it's a SAML configuration issue as much as it a back end capability to accept multiple signing keys from the same IDP.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't see an option to stop the process hovering over the task. The only options available were the caution message and the configuration. The job finally finished after approximate 26 hours so this is no longer a pressing issue.

I manually kicked off the Weekly AuditLog Maintenance task in the user interface yesterday and its been running for about 15 - 16 hours now and the server is really slowing down. What's the proper way to stop the task? I see in the AEM 6.1 SP1 release notes there may be some improvements in the performance of this task.

I opened a support ticket as suggested and they gave us the following instructions. Basically several command line options should be provided -Dhttp.proxyHost= -Dhttp.proxyPort= -Dhttp.nonProxyHosts="localhost|127.*|[::1]" -Dhttps.proxyHost= -Dhttps.proxyPort= -Dhttps.nonProxyHosts="localhost|127.*|[::1]" -Dftp.proxyHost= -Dftp.proxyPort= Once we configured that in our start script, we were able to test the connection to the ASRP endpoint successfully.
