Best practice for making form read-only at certain steps in process? - Adobe LiveCycle 20-10-2010
I have a process with a single form and 4 Assign Task operations. During Assign Task operations 1 and 3, the form is edited. During Assign Task operation 2 and 4, it should be read-only (it is reviewed and acknowledged, but not changed). There is no single criteria in the form data that indicates whether a form should be read-only or not -- this is only signaled by the step in the process. What is the best way to manage the read-only state? Is there a way to make the form read-only via a setting...

Frame issue in Workspace with IE8/XP/Reader 9.4 - Adobe LiveCycle 20-10-2010
When a user opens a form from a "to do" in Workspace, the form opens in a frame outside of and superimposed over the normal Workspace interface. This obscures the user action buttons, which stops the process at that user (since they can perform no actions). The "save" button is partially visible and can be clicked, as can the "Task Details" tab. Any suggestions for how to deal with this framing problem? Obviously the user can access the form from another computer, but if this issue is related to...

Re: WebService; Error attempting to read from file http://dotnetserver/ws.asmx - Adobe LiveCycle 28-09-2010
$Nith$I have the same problem. How did you recover? I uninstalled Designer SP1, made a minor change to the form and re-deployed, but still cannot connect to my web service. Do I just need to re-boot the server (kind of a big deal on our production instance, but still possible)? Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!Toby

Re: How to change Complete button's caption? - Adobe LiveCycle 21-09-2010
Jasmin, I'm trying to do this, too. I would like the process initiator to be able to choose from multiple user actions and have multiple routes. Is there really no way to do this without introducing an additional step? Are there any best practices in this area that you could recommend? Thanks!Toby

Re: Binding dropdown list to XML response of web service - Adobe LiveCycle 05-08-2010
SteveThanks! After working with the example you sent me, I was able to get it to work -- great! However, this method seems to overwrite all the other XML in my xfa:data -- not great! For example, without the script, I have something like this in my form data variable after a form is completed and submitted:- - - - - 8107 NATHAN JANNASCH Information System IS - System Devlopment Professional Staff ... However, when I use the script as you described above and in your sample to load the data f...

Re: OLEDB connections in Designer ES2 not available - Adobe LiveCycle 02-08-2010
PaulI was able to add a connection by saving a copy of my form outside of Workbench, closing Workbench, and opening the form in Designer. I then added the form back to my Workbench project. This is inconvenient, but gets around the problem for now. Toby

Re: OLEDB connections in Designer ES2 not available - Adobe LiveCycle 30-07-2010
More clues:I re-installed Workbench and Designer -- same problem. However, I noticed that if I open Designer without opening Workbench, the OLEDB option appears. So, the OLEDB option is only missing when Workbench is also open. Obviously, this is not convenient. Any ideas?
