Dterner wrote... Thanks JK, we don't have any UGC so that is ok, but if we would like to continue using the current code base are there any recommendations? Can we install the com.adobe.cq.social.blog jar file directly or will there be other gotchas? Honestly, I don't know. Perhaps a very specific question could be asked through a support ticket. You would want to be specific as to what features of the author-side blog you use, and that you don't use.- JK

The AEM 6.0 version of the blog feature no longer exists. It was an authoring activity that was similar to authoring other site content where it was authored and then published. The AEM 6.1 and later versions of the blog feature support authoring in the publish environment and is built on SCF.Further, a storage resource provider (SRP) handles user generated content (UGC) as of AEM 6.1, which the old blog components do not support. There is an open source tool to help migrate UGC.You could look at...

I don't know the platform search component that well.I gather this is about the publish environment - so I'm guessing the platform search will limit itself to the site's content tree. UGC would not be found there. So, my guess is the answer is No. Wouldn't take much to try it out. 😉- JK

When you see Communities components, think 'community content', aka user generated content (UGC).The AEM platform search will search page content that exists in the AEM repository. The AEM Communities search component will search UGC stored in the common UGC store.- JK

Hi Swapna,It is not possible to simply switch from 5.6.1 collab APIs to 6.2 social component framework (SCF) APIs.You need to upgrade from 5.6.1 to 6.2. One way to get a handle on the upgrade is to move from cq-socialcommunities-pkg-1.3 (delivered in AEM 5.6.1) to cq-socialcommunities-pkg-1.4. Minimally, you'll change from using JSP components to HBS (HandleBars) components. In AEM 6.2, you'll find "dev essentials" pages for all the components, including Reviews and Rating. There is much to learn ...

Hi,"Prior to 6.2 we had utilized reverse replication to accomplish this. Do we need to configure 6.2 in the same manner?"I believe the answer is 'yes' - replication is still used for content under /content.User sync is an implementation of Sling Distribution for /home/users and /home/groups.- JK

Hi Shubham,No worries. I do know understand how confusing it can be at first. We really appreciate your thoughtful questions and the effort you put into learning. It is more helpful to the community, I think, if you mark one of these answers as correct and create a new question for your next issue. Otherwise, this becomes long and the new questions are less visible. A more specific title is also helpful.- JK

Hi,I downloaded the same sample code, and the sling:ResourceSuperType was already set to "social/commons/components/hbs/comments", so I'm unsure what sample package it is you have. Was it named "sample-comment-extension-6-1-fp3.zip" (it's not been modified for 6.2, and I don't think it needs to be).Have you tried following the tutorial in order to create the extension instead of using the sample package? There are some edits necessary for the hbs scripts as well. These scripts may have changed f...

Hi MRyno,Would you provide the link to documentation you're using as well as what version of AEM and Communities FP you have installed? It is not possible to simply start using ASRP. You need to work through your account representative. You can try the experiment with the default JSRP, making sure to enter UGC in the publish environment, and see if it's working. If it works on JSRP, it should work on any other SRP.I hope this helps.- JK
