I have a script on the change event that allows only numbers 1 to 100 and the values a,b,c,d,e,r,i,n. I also want to allow the "-" and "+" entries in the field. The script below works for the entries, with the exception of the "+" character. How do i change the script so that the field allows an entry like A+, B+, etc.?On change:if (xfa.this.change!="" && !xfa.event.newText.match(/^[1-9][0-9]?$|^100|^(a|a-|b|b-|c|c-|d|d-|e|e-|r|n|i)$/)){xfa.event.change ="";xfa.host.messageBox("Incorrect entry......

I had hoped to limit the entry for "na" to one entry of "n" which would then automatically become an "na" and also become uppercase. I worked with your suggestions and came up with this.I tested the result and I believe it works properly:On change*if (!xfa.event.newText.match(/^(e|c|w|a|n|na)$/i)){ xfa.event.change = "";}On exit:this.rawValue=this.rawValue.replace(/n/g,"na")if (this.rawValue == "n"){ this.rawValue.replace(/n/g,"na")}if (this.rawValue != "na"){ this.rawValue=this.rawValue.toUpper...

I want to force the user to limit the entries in a textfield to use only four single alphabet entries (E, C, W, or A), in addition to a two-letter alphabet entry "na". I have a textfield with a limit of two characters. Right now, it is possible for the user to incorrectly enter two of the same alpha entries. How do i restrict the user to entering just one entry, while at the same time allowing the user to enter the "na" entry?

Do yThe second table (Summary Insureds) is static (ideally, it should also be an expanding subform, but I haven't been using livecycle designer long enough to have mastered this yet.). If you wouldn't mind, I could send you the form offline, if I haven't been clear enough about what I'm trying to do.I entered the following script on the exit event of the Table.Row1.DDAmt field:for(var i=0;<5 &&i(xfa.resolveNode("Table1.Row1").instanceManager.count; i++)xfa.resolveNode("form1.MainForm.SubformAppl...

I have a flowed subform, which contains fifteen positioned subforms inside it. Each of the subforms has expanding text fields which expand properly inside their respective subforms without overlapping the next subform. But when the expanded text reaches the bottom of the page, it won't also move into the next page. There is a gap between each subform and the next one. How can I address this problem? They are not repeating forms, but are distinct.

Hello all,I have a question about the script below.I want to test input in a text field for allowing approved letter groups in a text field. The field works for the approved letters as providing options for entering A+, A, A-, B+,B,B-, C+,C,C-,D+,D,D-,.But I need to change the code so that the user is limited to entering the following values as pairs:EX, VG, G, S, NI and na (all of these are to be case-sensitive.What changes should I make to the change event code? Hello Kyle,I worked with the script in the revised form you so kindly looked at. The problem with entering an asterisk as one of allowable characters is solved. Thank you. However, there continues to be the limitation I was afraid would continue. A user can enter the characters (a, b, c, d, e and "na") and they will change to uppercase. They can also enter the "-" sign as the second allowable character (for example: A-, B-, C-, D-, D-). However, in order to allow the entry of a+ (which should aut...

Hi Kyle,I should have mentioned that I've been trying the scripts on the form I sent you in the term1 achieveOT1 field. All of the Achievement row fields are to return only the ABCDE + - * na I'm still trying your script. If I enter "na" lower case, the field automatically updates it to upper case. If I enter the ABCDE etc as well as the asterisk in lower case, I have to hit the caps key in order for the alpha characters to switch to uppercase. I wonder if I've missed something. It doesn't matte...

I can successfully use your script so far: I put the script for the change event as follows (just like your script):if (xfa.event.change!="*" && !xfa.event.newText.match(/^[ABCDE](\+|-)?$|^(na?)$/)) { xfa.event.change =""; xfa.host.beep("3"); }The script on the exit event reads as followsthis.rawValue=this.rawValue.toUpperCase()So far, the alpha letters default to upper case - this is good - but the field accepts all the letters, not just the ABCDE as well as all the variations of A+ A- etc. It ...

Thanks so far, Kyle.I've been able to incorporate the use of the asterisk on the change event. This could be an interesting challenge - creating a form that can be completed in three logical steps, with each of the steps involving locking the fields filled in for that session! I'll tackle this, with your thanks.

Hello! Is is possible to write a script which locks only the fields which are filled in? And then is possible to re-open the saved form and fill in the next series of "open" fields, and resave it again, locking any additional fields which have been filled in? I want my user to complete the form in three stages.
