Re: Unable to create a new page on a site. - Adobe Experience Manager 04-01-2016
Thanks for pointing this out. As a best practice, it would make sense to have the regular expression point to the actual site.

Re: missing repository at start author instance AEM 6.0 SP3 - Adobe Experience Manager 04-01-2016
Can you check and make sure the bundles are running in your system console? There are dependences so you may need to make sure the bundles are started in the proper order. If everything appears normal, i.e. no missing or unresolved bundles, you may be dealing with a corrupt lucene index. This excellent blog post walks you through the steps of fixing a corrupt index.http://www.wemblog.com/2011/12/how-to-rebuild-index-in-cq5-wem.htmlIf you have further issues, do not hesitate to request office hou...

Re: When will the AEM training material be updated to 6.1 ? - Adobe Experience Manager 04-01-2016
Hello and thank you for posting,All of the video training has been updated for AEM 6.1 and is available here by role:http://adobesolutionpartnertraining.com/#/catalog/category/7857The legacy, printed material has been left on the partner training portal since some partners may have a need for this material; for example a 5.6 or 6.0 project. The virtual exam prep courses are all for AEM 6.1 and we recommend you attend these as a partner.Thank you

Re: Missing Maven Settings.xml in CodeSnippets for Online Video Training Company project - Adobe Experience Manager 15-10-2015
Hello, This settings XML file should work, it points to the Adobe repo. In addition, be sure you are not using Maven 3.3. If you are, you will need to downgrade to Maven 3.2.https://www.dropbox.com/s/vyd5rxsq0o3r6pn/settings.xml

Re: Debugging Server Side JavaScript - Adobe Experience Manager 10-08-2015
Hello, The way I debug such code is simply by logging, for e.g. with log.error("message").Usually, the server JS should be quite straight-forward and therefore not too much of a problem if breakpointing isn't possible, but Rhino has one trick that is important to know:one must not use strict comparison, because the Java APIs will return variables that have types that won't strictly match the JS primary types. For e.g. if you have a boolean JCR property you should do:var isCompleted = properties.g...

Uber JAR - Adobe Experience Manager 30-07-2015
The "UberJar" is the informal name given to a special Java Archive (JAR) file provided by Adobe. This JAR file contains all of the public Java APIs exposed by Adobe Experience Manager. It includes limited external libraries as well, specifically all public APIs available in AEM which come from the Apache Sling, Apache Jackrabbit, Apache Lucene, Google Guava, and two libraries used for image processing (Werner Randelshofer's CYMK JPEG ImageIO library and the TwelveMonkeys image library). The Uber...

Debugging Server Side JavaScript - Adobe Experience Manager 29-07-2015
It is important to understand that Adobe uses open source Rhino to convert JavaScript into Java. Therefore all the regular Java libraries are available to Server Side JavaScript simply be using the class path in your JavaScript. However, Server Side JavaScript is slower than using Java. It is best to use Server Side JavaScript if components will be cached in the dispatcher. In order to enable the server side debugging for Rhino, open the sling.properties file in crx-quickstart/conf and set the o...

Please note that the etc directory in the JCR has different, more restrictive permissions for AEM 6.1. If you face issues with upgrading, be sure to check these permissions.

LoginService with AEM 6.1 - Adobe Experience Manager 17-07-2015
Hello, When you upgrade to AEM 6.1, please note that the LoginService will NOT work with the default Admin user. This will cause most of the code in the back end workshop videos to stop working. In order to fix this, you need to set up a new system user with rights to everything. This can be done by:1). Opening the CRX explorer at http://localhost:4502/crx/explorer/index.jsp2). Check to be sure you are logged in as admin3). Click User Administration4). At the top, click Create System User5). Cre...
