I have noticed that authors take great pause, even canceling and starting over when deleting components. I believe it may have something to do with the delete confirmation modal. It does not indicate what components are going to be deleted. This can be especially nerve racking when a component is nested inside another component making it a little more challenging to know if you are in fact deleting the right component(s). My suggestion is to add the components title to a list of components effec...

In classic ui I was able to set a componentGroup to .hidden and authors would not see the component. In touch ui I am not seeing the same behavior although it is suggested elsewhere that it should work the same way. Am I wrong about this? Here is an example of one such component that is hidden in classic ui but not in touch ui:

Thanks for the responses fellas. But not exactly what I need. In classic mode adding "cq.widgets" as a category to the clientlib folder it allowed me to apply styles to my components while pages are being authored. This was helpful in cases where I wanted to add some extra presentation styling to help when authoring content but does not appear in the published product. I'm struggling to get on board with the new TouchUI as the actual page is in an iframe. In this case I want the component styles...

In classic I could add "cq.widgets" as a category for a component's clientlib and the css/js would be added to the page in authoring mode. I am looking for the Touch UI version of that category. I have css/js that I want to pull in for specific components but don't want that cluttering up my main site css. Thanks!

If I drag the component into a parsys then yes I can edit the component. The problem occurs when components are hard coded into templates. For example, we have Event Templates that have components like Title, Text, Image, etc all hard coded into that template for consistency. I have not tried using data-sly-use as it would require rewriting some of our components. We may have to if we want to continue with this approach to templates...I was hoping there might be a solution or a hotfix as it work...

On a previous project (6.0 classic) I was able to use data-sly-resource in my templates to include some components and make them editable by authors. In playing around with 6.1 with touch ui, I tried to use the same approach but experiencing an unexpected outcome. The component will appear on the page, however it is not editable in Touch UI. It is editable in classic however. Am I missing a property or some configuration for the design_dialog that is preventing it from being edited in Touch UI?H...

"On a few very-very rare occasions they did not appear in the list despite checking them off in the list" This has been very rare, although I will follow up with Adobe on it. However it's slightly less concerning to me at this point. I am more concerned that the templates will get handed off to the client and the issue will come up and we will need to support frequent loss of components within the sidekick. Is the frequent loss of components normal? Is it caused by a poorly written component? (i...

Think think I have a multi-part answer to your question. After I add the components back to the parsys from design mode they will appear in the list and I can use them as expected. On a few very-very rare occasions they did not appear in the list despite checking them off in the list. Unfortunately I did not check logs for these occasions and chalked it up to some other hiccup and restarted the server. (In hindsight not the best approach but it seemed to work)In the cases where I upload the /etc/...

Before I start, here are some possibly helpful environment specs.AEM 6.0 SP2Java 1.7.0_71 64bitMac OS 10.9Chrome 43I have been doing a lot of QA as of late and noticed a strange issue with the Sidekick. I haven't been able to track the issue down and hope someone here knows the root cause. As I am adding content and testing components I have noticed on several occasions (more than a few dozen) the Sidekick will loose track of the allowed components. There are two different symptoms and I will exp...

I have observed this behavior myself. However, it only strips ID's. Using class is perfectly fine, and arguably a better solution. FWIW, using style inside the body is not best practice anyway as it violates HTML specification, with the exception of HTML5 where the scope attribute is used. See: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2830296/using-style-tags-in-the-body-with-other-html A few possible solutions you may consider are:1) Put your css into your css file and create a rtePlugins configurati...

Having an issue where some users are missing components in the sidekick. It appears to only happen on a few pages even though there is only a single template. When we check the page in design mode all the components are checked they just don't show up in the sidekick. If we delete the page and make a new one, the components show up again. We tried clearing browser cache/clientlibs, deleting compiled jsp's, rebooting the server without any success.Anyone had this issue and/or know what's going on...

According to the documentation on annotations (https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-0/author/page-authoring/annotations.html#Annotation%20Sketches) Authors should be able to delete sketches attached to annotations. "To delete an individual sketch - select the required sketch, then press the Delete key (fn-backspace on a MAC)."In trying to delete a sketch authors are instead logged out with an error message stating they are logged out. We tested this on 6.0 SP1 and SP2 in Classic UI with the same...

Unless I misunderstood the question, you can move components around. I do it all the time in classic mode. Do you support classic, touch or both UI's? I noticed that if we chose to use the edit bar we could not drop components above it as the edit bar interfered with the drop ability. You could of course choose to insert a new component above the existing one with the edit bar, but it was a new component and required moving of content or configuration.

I believe that I have solved this issue finally. After much poking and prodding, I discovered that the sightly version of parsys had infact changed between SP1 and SP2.SP1 Sample: data-sly-resource="${paragraph.resourcePath @ resourceType=paragraph.resourceType, decorationTagName='div'}"SP2 Sample: data-sly-resource="${paragraph.resourcePath @ resourceType=paragraph.resourceType}"decorationTagName='div' is the difference. If I added this line back to the SP2 version everything works fine. The Sol...

Yes, all the components are shown individually in the JCR. I attached a screenshot just in case it proves useful. FWIW, let me add some additional information that may be related. We initially discovered this issue when using the edit bar. The edit bar would float left when the component was in a right column. Initially we blamed the "Fusing" effect on the edit bar and decided to disable the edit bar. Turns out the issue was not isolated to the edit bar.

Before I file a ticket, let me ask a question first. Are there any known issues with multiple parsys systems from columns? I noticed just a little bit ago while debugging that our column system seems to reproduce the issue but the Adobe column does not. Here is our code for a two column component. .half .half I know adobe uses a different column system but our requirements called for a different class naming convention. Anyway, looking at the code above does anything stand out as incorrect or as...

We are experiencing a sitewide issue in 6.0 SP2 for Classic UI where components almost seem to "fuse" together and are no longer editable individually. In SP1 this is not an issue. To elaborate further, when in edit mode the green border that appears around components should highlight each component individually. Right clicking will allow you authors to edit the components details. This works exactly as expected in SP1. However, in SP2 the green border is drawn around an entire group of componen...
