I have a form in LC though would like to add a map of a property and have some .jpgs layered over the top of it that can be movable by the client. Is this possible? If it is not with LC is there an Adobe product I could do this with?Any and all help is appreciated.Justin

I just sent it back. I was having some issues getting it to work according to the docs and how I recommended. Here is the code I used to get it to work properly. I used the ISO and manipulated the date from there. var dateNumber = IsoDate2Num($) topmostSubform.Page1.GerminatorDate.rawValue = Num2Date(dateNumber + 21)

Hello,Make sure you are using FormCalc as both Date2Num and Num2Date are FormCalc functions and NOT js functions. Then use:newDateField = Num2Date(Date2Num(dateFieldWithDateNeedingToChange, "MM/DD/YYYY") + 21, "MM/DD/YYYY")Justin

This is what I was looking for. I am actually just looking for a way to stop intercompany users from making changes really. Just in case they might get a wild idea and say "Oh lets put this over here and that over there" lol 🙂 I guess though, do you have a way of securing a PDF via encryption that can't be hacked? In other coding languages I can encrypt/decrypt using a 40 character password mixed with a salt that is pretty tough to get through but I'm not sure if Adobe has something that you ca...

Hello,I am looking for a way to password protect the code/structure of a form but leave everything else open/unsecure ie filling, printing, emailing, ect. Is there a way to do this with these versions of applications that anyone has found?Adobe Acro Pro X 10.1.6Adobe Livecycle designer ES2 9.0I don't want the user to see the protection when the form is opened in reader. I only want to see the protection or password message box if someone were to open the pdf in Livecycle Designer.I've tried pass...

Adobe Acro Pro X 10.1.6Adobe Livecycle designer ES2 9.0And no it still does not work. You are using a very dated version of both applications and thus they are giving different results. I'll just repost this to see if someone out there with updated applications has the fix.

Ok, again. This works....yes. This DOES NOT WORK though if you are extending the rights using Acro Pro as I have already mentioned. So AGAIN I need a way of achieving this. You repeating the steps in the fashion you have only assures me that you did not read the previous message.

Ok I think I'm not being clear. I need a way to password protect a Reader Extended PDF so people can't open it with Livecycle ES2 and make changes. What you are telling me is accurate but after I follow your steps and then save the pdf with extended rights the password protection is gone so I can then open it just fine in Livecycle ES2.I appreciate your feedback but it won't work with a Reader Extended PDF.You would think there would be some code I could run that would check to see if it's livec...

I only want it password protected if someone tries to make a change to it using livecycle though. Basically I need a way of password protecting the code/structure without the user being prompted for a password each time the form is opened using reader.

Hello!!!! I wanted to say thank you quick for all of your information thus far as every little bit helps on our educational journey. I have a question though. Do you happen to have a form that I could see how you do things. I would really like to stick with best practices as I'm pretty new to programming pdf's using Formcalc and js. I'm not completely new to js but I've only used Formcalc a few times now over the past 3 years and haven't done a whole lot with XML either. If there is a good solid...

Hey Steve I couldn't get it to work so instead I created an invisible field to retain the variable data and just update that field instead. This is a very inefficient way of doing things for sure but I couldn't figure out a better solution. I really appreciate your feedback!!!!!

Hello everyone,I am trying to do this using formcalc:var boostDate = "boosterDate1"form1.page2.invoiceTable.row1.boostDate.rawValue = Num2Date(Date2Num(form1.page2.page2Date.formattedValue, "MM/DD/YYYY") + (firstRowWeek * 7)+ (firstRowYear * 365), "MM/DD/YYYY")I want to use a variable in place of the object name but for the life of me I can't get it to work using formcalc. Thank you for any and all help. Justin

form1.page2.invoiceTable.row1.boosterDate1.rawValue = add-days-to-date(form1.page2.page2Date,4)The form1.page2.page2Date is copying a cell that has:$.rawValue = num2date(Date(), "MM/DD/YYYY")I'm not sure where I'm going wrong here. I've also tried using javascript and can't get that to work either. I am trying to take a date and add days to it dynamically. Paul,Thank you again for coming through!!!!!! Once I fixed the typo and put the "if" code block on one line it worked. I have a strange question then though. can you do something likevar j = 'justin';textfield.rawValue = j.rawValue (Where j is the value justin and justin is the name of a textfield)The reason I ask is I went and used find/replace for the other rows in the form to separate all of them but wanted to use inplace substitution though wasn't sure how to do it.Justin

I should have just redone the whole FORM at this point. I didn't even think about the caption. I was so stuck on the fact that the js wasn't working properly I didn't even think about the actual field again as I knew I changed the field from text to numeric so I figured that part was good. Thank you again for your help. I'm learning a ton on here and appreciate all the feedback and support along the way.Justin
