Yes, I tried this. Form is taking the updated node as new element. I think, its behave like this only, even in LiveCycle designer if we update any node name in schema then we need to remap the field with new node. It will not understand if the node name updated.

I think AEM Forms, Assets, Sites, etc. are AEM modules, as we can develop, deploy and manage applications using them, hence they are offered as PaaS. AEM as a whole product is offered as a cloud service or SaaS, as its all operations, like updates, are managed by Adobe.
