  • It was an interesting call. A few observations: The "Follow" feature is much needed. As a former JIRA user, it was painful to not have this ability. I am curious, the presentation called out Tasks...hopefully we can follow Issues as well which is where the real value will fall for my firm. Also,...

  • We had the issue as well with our Cisco SPAM solution. Whitelisting the domain did work for us, though I do feel like sometimes I am not receiving a notification that I should. Your Exchange admin is correct that directly connecting the two does pose security risks (how "real" or likely a risk...s...

  • Aside from generally not being a best practice, the other issue we have noticed is things get difficult if people put actual time against it. That will really mess up reporting and flexibility with moving and adjusting that task.

  • Since surprisingly no one else has asked it, I figured I would: Workfront has done an amazing job rolling out new features and functionality that marketing groups/firms can take advantage of as well as a strong branding effort via blogs/social media/etc. to position Workfront as the leader in mark...

  • Here you go David: "Many tasks are made up of activities too small to be worth creating sub-tasks for. Additionally, as a PM, I may not need to know or care what the individual components of a task are, just that everything that needs to happen for that task is done so the task is complete. Finall...

  • Projected Completion Date? Never heard of it. I think it is mostly a myth created to scare children at bed time... In all honesty, we have removed it from nearly every report and train our PMs to ignore it and drive work based on Planned and Actual numbers only. Why? Projected takes in a whole...

  • I submitted an enhancement for a new field type of checklist for this very thing. I want to assign a task, say, Build Servers and then have the engineers create their checklist of things (request IP address, install OS, update drivers, harden security, etc.) and then check things off if they complet...

  • These seem reasonable. The Time-off functionality poses several challenges, especially for a Project Manager, and I hope they work to add some features/functionality to enhance this area in the future. It currently has too large an impact on task dates and can lead to a lot of scheduling frustrati...

  • We have been seeing issues similar to Heather's on a regular basis. As strange as it sounds, these issues tend to be worse in the evening (I am on the East Coast) starting around 4PM Eastern and getting worse as the evening goes on. In particular, it is gets bad around 9:30-11PM Eastern. I also noti...

  • I might be missing something obvious but is there a way to set individuals on an Issue as Watchers so they get copied on any human-created updates added to that Issue? For those who have used JIRA, the ability for any user to add any other user as a Watcher on an item was one of the best features of...
