I would definitely like to see Workfront allow for flexibility in what
is presented in the Milestone view. It is valuable but very limiting in
how the data is presented. We simply want to add the project 'status' to
the view which seems like it would naturally already be included but I
have no way to provide that information.
Hi Tina - I would be interested to learn from others how they are
finding success in using the new Resource Budgeting functionality that
is replacing the legacy resource estimate. We are not having success and
struggling to determine how the functionality will help us without
introducing A LOT of extra work for our teams. In addition, if there are
MPLS teams out there that have found a good way to use the new Resource
Planning functionality, I'd love to hear about that. For us, we haven't
PMs want both; the ability to see what was originally planned and what
actually happened. Unfortunately we haven't had success in using
baselines to 'snap the line' on what was originally planned. We instruct
PMs to update their plans to have a more realistic ongoing view of
what's going on with their projects. The concern here is about allocated
time to work that is completed. Leads/PMs do not want to see people with
planned allocated to them on tasks that are complete since it is
presumed the ...
Currently when a planned completion date is later than the actual
completion date, the demand allocation holds on to the planned
completion date. The problem this causes is showing demand allocation to
resources on work that is already complete. This may show a resource
over allocated when in fact they have availability. To avoid 'not real'
allocations, we've asked our PMs to update their planned completion
dates on tasks that are completed prior to the planned completion date.
As you can imagin...
When a task is marked complete prior to the planned completion date, the
future allocation of work should stop at the actual completion date.
This will better reflect availability of resource who complete work
earlier than planned AND save the PM time of not having to adjust the
planned completion date to match actual completion date so their demand
Similar to a planned activation date, it would be nice to have a planned
start date on users. This would allow us to input resources we know will
be added to our teams in the future and show up in capacity planning
We use monthly timesheets and our resources tend to have a lot of tasks
assigned to them during the month. Their timesheet tasks list gets long
and they have to remember and take time to scroll to the bottom each
time they log time on their timesheet. Moving the option to 'Save for
Later' to the title area make this option clearly visible and convenient
to use. Thanks
Thank you for the suggestion! I may use that calc functionality in the
future. I was successful in getting the txt I needed. Sharing in case
someone else needs/wants. displayname=Planned Duration Variance to

Currently there is limited functionality for Programs. It seems they are
simply a container for a group of projects. It would be helpful to
increase the capabilities to allow for Master & Child programs for
larger initiatives spanning multiple years/portfolio's/etc
The users ability to filter would be highly beneficial for managing the
number of tasks assigned during a period. When tasks are complete, they
could stay on a timesheet for a full month which is just noise to them.
At minimum, allow for the administrators to customize the timesheet
views/features to meet the needs of our organization.
